To be furious with Lloyds online banking?

I logged onto my internet banking with Lloyds Bank and upon signing in was greeted with a message about The Queen passing away and giving solitude to Lloyds bank customers. Erm, does anyone else think that this is slightly WTF territory? How dare they assume their customers feelings? AIBU to think banks should not be giving out political messages like this? It's okay to say if they are sorry for someone dying, I'm not expecting them to be someone's pro-death, but AIBU to think they should stay out of giving what might be seen as provocative statements like this to people that may be against the idea of the Royal Family?

I think your title set the tone of this thread. Saying you were furious seemed like a massive overreaction and I don’t see how that invites reflection. As I said earlier, had you worded your post differently the responses would also have been different. You later said you weren’t angry but then got offended when I asked how you actually felt. I’m genuinely confused about what your objection even is, especially as you say you’re a fan of the royals.

I think many of the comments you see as rude are actually tongue in cheek. You have been combative and defensive throughout this thread and I really don’t think there was a need for it. People are allowed to disagree with you. It’s not personal.

Anyway, you’ve already made it clear you don’t want to discuss anything further with me so I probably shouldn’t have bothered with this post. I just don’t like the thought of you being upset and wanted to try and offer a little perspective.
