Why wouldn't you want a dishwasher?

I don't have one either, prefer to wash uo by hand & straight back in cupboard!

AffIt · 09/09/2022 12:14

A toaster (we did have one, but it broke and we never bothered getting another one. Can't I miss it, and it frees up a lot of worktop space).

A dishwasher (I would KILL for a dishwasher, but we have a tiny kitchen and no room).

Oh bollocks, I misread the intention of the thread - I clearly do have a considerable interest in dishwashers.

I'll replace 'dishwasher' with 'new / regularly replaced car' - current car is a 2010 plate, I've owned it for two years. Never seen the point in endlessly buying brand-new cars when the one you've got works perfectly well.

I agree. My car is 9 years old, and DH's is 7 years old. Both regularly serviced and repairs carried out as and when necessary. And both working perfectly well.

I cut outgrown clothes into squares and have a big stack of them, I wet them with water and mild soap and use as toilet wipes. This is only possible for me as I already cloth diaper and have a free onsite laundry

you’re in the US then?

do you have “diaper” services like you see on tv where they come pick up a bag, wash and dry it, and return it to you? I can see how that would facilitate reusables.

o/t but I’ve just had to google the origin of the word diaper. It’s such a strange word 😂

I'm UK but you're right, I meant to say 'nappy'. Raised by UK parents who lived in America for a long time and adopted all the words 🙂House coat, elevator, sneakers, caused some confusion when I started school!

So it's just a flat with a communal room with washers and dryers, which I use a very hot setting and antibacterial additive.

I just really don't like toilet paper, so dry and scratchy. Eugh. I guess it saves money, would be interested to work it out later.

Don't you kinda need broadband to be on here???

I've got data on my mobile and a mobile wifi router for my work laptop but I don't have 'proper' broadband installed in my house.

Sadly, not everyone lives in an area with a good signal. I have to use a Powerline ethernet cable when working from home because I download and upload huge files. The signal round here just isn't strong enough for that, so we have a (rarely used for telephone) landline which supplies our broadband.
