The Queen is dying and yet people still find a way to make this about Meghan.

Tierne · 08/09/2022 17:00

I hope they dont use an avanti train for the coffin..!

His is what we are hearing from friends in the media too

spoonielife95 · 08/09/2022 17:01

Given how traumatic Diana’s funeral was and her children were older… do you think the Cambridge’s children will attend the funeral when she does pass away? I can’t imagine W & K wanting to expose their children to howling and hysterical people like how it was for W & H when they were kids…

baconbuttieswithsauce · 08/09/2022 17:01

Who's DB??

tactum · 08/09/2022 17:01

Who/what is DB?

Thunderpunt · 08/09/2022 17:02

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g's Brother?

Draughtycatflapreturns · 08/09/2022 17:02

Deidre Barlow

Willbe2under2 · 08/09/2022 17:02

It feels surreal, just the longevity. I realised earlier that my DD (aged 1) shares a monarch with her great great great grandparents. The baby I'm currently carrying (due next spring) is likely to be born under a King.

Wakemeuuuup · 08/09/2022 17:02

If she has passed I think it would be wonderful if she had just slipped away in her sleep

RubyJam · 08/09/2022 17:03

Will all schools and shops close on the day of the funeral ?
A previous poster mentioned this above , I had never heard of this part of the protocol before ?

FetlocksBlowingInTheWind · 08/09/2022 16:57

I agree, I think an announcement is coming soon.

I think they are going to wait until about 7pm this evening. Get people and kids home from work first.

You can't ask for a better way to go than that.

HuzzahIndeed · 08/09/2022 17:03

BBC presenter has just said that the energy crisis /energy bill was insignificant compared to the queen's health. 🤔🤨

People need to get this into perspective. It's sad (as I said earlier) but she's a public figure who most of us have never met and has very little impact on our lives.

I know this is a difficult time for people who are going through this personally or are mourning loved ones and I send you strength.

And no, I wasn't actually watching the news for updates.

@Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g's Brother?

Not my brother! Unless there's a lot he's not told me recently ...

TheKeatingFive · 08/09/2022 16:43

If I were Charles I would just let it go straight to William. Can he do that?

Pretty much the whole point of monarchy to not do that

In between the sombreness @TheKeatingFive that's worth a Smile

I imagine all her older great grandchildren like George and Charlotte will but the younger ones like Louis won't.

Astonishing I know. Why they are so intent on harping on about Meghan is mystifying 🙄

humanwinginglife · 08/09/2022 17:05

The guy currently on BBC looks and sounds like he's holding back tears...

This is 24 hour news at its worst. So many words and opinions for nothing actually happening.

I agree with this.

Agree! I wanted to hear about the energy announcement on the 1pm news, nothing! That affects me a lot more than the Queen dying, however sad it is.

Tierne · 08/09/2022 17:05

Of course the royal kids will go to the funeral, children go to their grandparents funerals all the time, and this is a) Their GREAT grandmother and b) Not a traumatic death

SleeplessInEngland · 08/09/2022 17:05

Fuck sake. We’re going to get a lot of this over the next few weeks.

I hope they aren’t out in parade. I don’t think that William or Kate would want that tbh, it was awful for him and Harry.
