Oh yeah, very unlikely in our lifetime isn't it. How wierd. It's been The Queen for my entire life. Now we have The King.

I'd rather we didn't have a monarch at all, but it's still going to be strange getting used to it. End of an era...

DH is gleeful, he's very anti-monarchy. As am I, but I respect her, she had zero choice in it and did a bloody good job. I can't think it would be a fun life, but she made it work and seemed happy enough.

Of course it’s a big moment in British history but FFS. There have been multiple “scares” in the last couple of years, for goodness sake, she was ninety six years old, it’s not unexpected.

@Emotionalsupportviper I was thinking about her sailing off into the heavens on a white yacht with Prince Philip, G&T in hand. I think a white yacht filled with all her lovely critters, as well as her beloved parents and sister, sailing over a rainbow is how I am going to think of her passing.

I also saw a procession of at least 10 swans at my local river today and I had to stop and stare because I had never seen that many at once. It felt like they were there for a big reason. It would have been no more than a couple of hours before or after her death.
