@EmptyHouse0822 the main reason for the panic is all the family rushing to get there - that’s very unusual as they normally don’t visit when just unwell

The passing of the queen is the end of an age. It means the 20th century is officially dead.

Easy tiger, some of the Beatles and Stones are still alive..

oldtableleg · 08/09/2022 17:13

ooops forgot about Louis - he's after Charlotte before Harry!

They are all quite young kids though. After the Queen passes and Charles accedes, it's -William-Harry? Andrew?-Beatrice? Is that the order of the eligible adults?

LookItsMeAgain · 08/09/2022 17:19

@EmptyHouse0822 - generally when a monarch has their medical team announce to the House of Commons and the media that they are under their supervision, and the children and grandchildren and great grandchildren (perhaps I'm not 100% accurate with the last grouping) drop everything to get flights to a castle in Scotland where their mother/grandmother/great-grandmother is, it's not usually done for a hoot.

BiddyPop · 08/09/2022 17:19

And sorry, I was trying to quote but on my phone so that's not working...

Ilovelindor · 08/09/2022 17:20

Dorisbonson · 08/09/2022 17:14

Announcement is 6

I thought there was 'reliable' info it was at 4pm and 5pm 🙄

spoonielife95 · 08/09/2022 17:20

@jennakong no the children will still be king or queen but someone will act for them I think - like a guardianship type thing - Victoria was similar as she was young

GreenGreenGrassBlue · 08/09/2022 17:20

Wonder if Elton will sing at the funeral

tactum · 08/09/2022 17:20

No, succession is William, all of his kids, Harry, all of his kids, Andrew etc

diddl · 08/09/2022 17:20

If she has already died will be sad for those that have only just arrived not to have been able to say goodbye.

Also it does seem that something is "known" for this constant coverage.

Aquarius1234 · 08/09/2022 17:20

What's this about the Palace not commentating on the Royals Health.
We have heard only few months ago the Queen was unwell and resting, and the Duke with health issues few years on and off before his death.

Ok, so nothing specific has happened or been announced, but because the family are all going to Balmoral the assumption is that she’s seriously unwell?

Thank you.

baconbuttieswithsauce · 08/09/2022 17:21

@jennakong no age has nothing to do with the line of succession.

lawandgin · 08/09/2022 17:21

@Againstmachine just my personal feeling - a mark of respect, a national day of mourning. Plus some other selfish reasons. I have tickets to the cricket tomorrow...😬

SquirrelSoShiny · 08/09/2022 17:22

It's very sad to think about her gone. She represented something noble about Britain at a time when everything feels like it's going down the drain.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 08/09/2022 17:22

Charles, William, George, Charlotte, Louis, Harry, Archie, Lilibet, Andrew, his two daughters and their children, Edward, Edward's children, Anne, her children and grandchildren. That's the order.

Maybe he can rewrite candle in the wind and sing it with Britney spears.

Tierne · 08/09/2022 17:23

Watching the BBC now and I actually think it would be more respectful and beautiful to stop this constant fucking wittering and just leave the cameras on ar Balmoral and have the natural surrounding sound on

Notjusta · 08/09/2022 17:23

Huw is back.

oldtableleg · 08/09/2022 17:23

it doesn't pass to the next available adult though the goes down each line until extinguished before passing to the next one - so Charles - William - William's kids - Harry - Harry's kids - Andrew - Beatrice - her child - Eugenie - her baby - only then Edward etc and finally Anne etc.

Obviously a child ascending would mean some sort of regency arrangement initially.

Feelfreetocallme · 08/09/2022 17:23

I’ve had to switch off the tv. I’m very sorry someone’s granny is about to kick the bucket but could do without the constant coverage. I’m more concerned about actual things that effect me like the cost of living crisis.

ThrowingSomeCrumbs · 08/09/2022 17:23

The media hasn't been informed of her death and there isn't a plan for a 6pm announcement. People saying otherwise are making it up.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 08/09/2022 17:23

Charles
William
George
Charlotte
Louis
Harry
Archie
Lilibet
Andrew

That's why we have 'xth in line to the throne.'

Tierne · 08/09/2022 17:23

Just let us look at the gates and trees and listen to the rain falling FFS

Ah now here......

I'm going with Erasure "Have a little respect....ooooohhhhh" 🎶 🎵
