Let’s hear your policies…

Is the OP running for prime minister?

MrsLargeEmbodied · 05/09/2022 12:49

i reckon they voted for her as a walkover
and rishi as a risk due to his recent tax avoidance issues.

PerfectlyPreservedQuagaarWarrior · 05/09/2022 12:49

DobbyTheHouseElk · 05/09/2022 12:48

Why? Seriously was there no one else. She’s plain terrifying.

It was a bit of a my left bollock with a smiley face situation, as per Malcolm Tucker.

lancsgirl85 · 05/09/2022 12:48

Yes! Me too please 🙂

Me three

stillherenow · 05/09/2022 12:50

I just pray we see the unravelling of the Tory party. Look at that room full of smug entitled tossers.

ilovesooty · 05/09/2022 12:50

balabears · 05/09/2022 12:47

Well done, Liz! Our third female PM.

Is this a serious post?

SleeplessInEngland · 05/09/2022 12:51

LizaSimpson · 05/09/2022 12:48

Please can I have a tldr to why it's a bad thing?

I only know she wants to remove speed limits on motorways.

Is there anywhere I can find more of her policies?

Who knows what she'll actually be like. She says she wants to be a Thatcherite libertarian but policial/economic reality will probably put paid to that if she has a single functioning brain cell.

carefullycourageous · 05/09/2022 12:51

As someone who votes ABC (anything but conservative) I am delighted to see this result as now we can get on with what is next. The process has been so slow!

Survation polling is fun: twitter.com/Survation/status/1566726690050646018 - Labour's lead increases when truss is named Hope it stays this way.

Igotjelly · 05/09/2022 12:51

For those asking why it’s not a good thing, just a couple of examples:

  • she is understood to have no real plan to tackle the cost of living and avoided committing to anything, or even interviewing in some cases, on it during the campaign.
  • she has been quite vocal in support for sending troops into Ukraine.
  • her expected cabinet appointments are really hard-line (think Rees-Mogg and Braverman)

Rishi's billionaire tax avoiding wife def meant they were never going to be able to go into the next GE with him at the helm. He's missed his moment, by the time the cost of living stuff kicked in it was too late for him.

If you find out tell Liz, that's pretty much all she's got.

There's something about less foreign cheese, and 76p to help with the £6k energy bill.

DayKay · 05/09/2022 12:52

I just hope she has a good cabinet and advisors.

Badbadbunny · 05/09/2022 12:52

Best of a bad job. Rishi would be worse!

Antarcticant · 05/09/2022 12:52

Neither of them is fit to lead the country.

PerfectlyPreservedQuagaarWarrior · 05/09/2022 12:52

DayKay · 05/09/2022 12:52

I just hope she has a good cabinet and advisors.

She certainly won't have a good cabinet. Look at the candidates.

whynotwhatknot · 05/09/2022 12:53

oh dear im all for women in power but not necessarily this one

FreddyHG · 05/09/2022 12:53

Good I see the left leaning Mumsnet already loath her. I think she will do well and our third female pm. Small state please and no bankrupting the country.

SleeplessInEngland · 05/09/2022 12:53

DayKay · 05/09/2022 12:52

I just hope she has a good cabinet and advisors.

She'll rehire most of Johnson's, so no, she won't.

PerfectlyPreservedQuagaarWarrior · 05/09/2022 12:52

The projected Cabinet is appalling.

That just made me snort Grin

CapMarvel · 05/09/2022 12:53

On the plus side, she'll doubtless make the tories completely unelectable come the next GE.

On the negative side, the UK will probably be fucked beyond all recognition by the time we get there.

She is a fucking nutter. With Boris you could at least sort of see why people would like him but I cannot, by any measure, think why anyone would think Truss would be a viable PM.

SleeplessInEngland · 05/09/2022 12:54

If she goes with the small state approach in the worst cost of living crisis in living memory then you might as well give Starmer the keys to Downing St right now.

JesusMaryAndJosephAndTheWeeDon · 05/09/2022 12:54

DayKay · 05/09/2022 12:52

I just hope she has a good cabinet and advisors.

Her cabinet includes Rees-Mogg, Braverman and Kwarteng. So we're screwed
