And I don't feel even the slightest bit unreasonable. In fact, I bought them knowing that I'd sit and eat them all as soon as I got home.

What do you regularly buy, knowing that you will use/eat the lot of it?

Big bags of squashies, that texture is addictive. Big tubs of Ben and Jerry’s. I can never leave any once I start. Four pack of large cookies on the way home from the supermarket. Am ashamed of this one, as it is pure bingeing and I try to hide it. Sometimes I wonder if they put crack in them though. I don’t know why they are so moreish?

Because they've been engineered to be irresistible with their precise combination of salt, sugar and fat. Food companies are making huge profits whilst your health (and that of half the population) is suffering massively.

Every time you (and everyone else on this thread) binges on sugary or processed food you're spiking the insulin in your body. The more often you spike it the more insulin resistant you become and this is the root cause of most chronic modern diseases like type 2 diabetes and obesity.
Which we all have to pay for, whether or not we were the one who indulged.

mycatisannoying · 30/08/2022 07:50

I could eat a whole cheesecake. I'm not bothered about the biscuity bottom, but could eat the entire topping.
A sharing bag of Revels is easily doable.
As are most other things really Blush

mycatisannoying · 30/08/2022 07:57

Oh God, and salted peanuts. I can eat a whole large bag. I think I'm addicted.

JustDanc3 · 30/08/2022 10:31

I really want to go and buy a fresh French stick and a pack of boursin and just devour the whole lot now.

@XenoBitch that's the only reason I can't eat the lot - my nose is on fire Grin

That reads like the MN Food Thread version of "Sex on Fire" by Kings of Leon. I'm sure there's a line in it about being consumed too Grin

IcakethereforeIam · 30/08/2022 11:24

That song always makes me think they should get some caneston, or, this being a food thread, natural yogurt.

JustDanc3 · 30/08/2022 11:27

Well.. Thanks to this thread, I've just picked up a whole olive loaf, pack of garlic cheese, tube of pringles and some salami.
Thanks for contributing to my continued obesity mumsnet.

Leftbutcameback · 30/08/2022 11:38

@Mummadeze I had a snaccident with the white chocolate and honeycombe cookies. There was one left so I put it in the freezer to stop me. Turns out you can eat from frozen 🤐

Thelnebriati · 30/08/2022 11:59

''snaccident'' 🤣
Yeah I have to go shopping later and we're having crusty bread, Boursin and salad for tea.

Underparmummy · 30/08/2022 17:47

Tunnocks caramel wafer bars. Will eat any in the house within minutes.

stopitstopitnow · 30/08/2022 17:50

Just read on another thread that mince pies are now in the shops.....I'm doomed.

Osiansmummy1 · 30/08/2022 18:05

Digestives .. either cho or not .
Nut chocolate any type..
Jaffa cakes.. all seriously at risk from me.

Bozlem80 · 30/08/2022 18:08

Fig rolls, bloody love them, people say will get the shits but I must be immune to them now 😂

Kentucky83 · 30/08/2022 18:22

I love this thread! Thank you, OP. I like to buy a box of Ritz crackers, a tub of Philedelphia cheese and dunk the crackers until the cheese is gone. I also can't be trusted with liquorice allsorts, I will eat an entire bag then feel sick for several hours.

Kazz36 · 30/08/2022 18:24

😮

NotaMary · 30/08/2022 18:31

Maltesers. Cadbury’s Dairy Milk. Really nice ice cream. Any old vanilla ice cream with crushed maltesers added. I could go on …….

Lulu1919 · 30/08/2022 18:32

I wouldn't worry about it too much, with the recent shrinkflation you've actually only eaten two cakes given the amount they have shrunk now!

user1493559472 · 30/08/2022 18:33

Party rings.
My friend sent me 12 packs recently when I had Covid. I am trying to be good with them!!'

DoveOfPiss · 30/08/2022 18:33

Here's mine:

Custard doughnuts - doesn't matter where from, I can eat all 5 in one go 🐷
Marmite cashews
'Sharing' (yeah right) bags of tyrells or sensations with dairylea cheese spread
Crisps as above with houmous dip
Those massive bags of new flaming hot Wotsits 😋😋
Mince pies
Digestive biscuits with dairylea & Marmite spread on - don't knock it till you've tried it 😉😁

Soo666 · 30/08/2022 18:35

Could easily eat a pack of 4 Greggs sausage rolls…

Spanielsarepainless · 30/08/2022 18:35

Oatcakes with butter. Especially the cheese oatcakes!

Jayne35 · 30/08/2022 18:36

I do that every time I buy a box of French Fancies, so I do try to avoid them 😂

Spanielsarepainless · 30/08/2022 18:40

The family bags of Minstrels.
The 250g slabs of Ritter 50% cocoa solids chocolate from Lidl.
Dairy Milk.
Jaffa cakes - eating a whole packet is a breeze!
Tuc biscuits with butter.
