I love a sandwich with cheese and jam, preferrably strawberry jam, but other flavours are nice too.

Who is up for trying it an telling me if I am really weird or you like it too?

Also, what other weird food combinations are nice and should be tried?

Quite common in some countries.
Guess we do it with brie and cranberry jam.

OneCup · 28/08/2022 11:06

Ps. You can do honey and goat cheese too.

Whataretheodds · 28/08/2022 11:10

I love cheese and jam. Cheddar or cottage. Also cheddar and/or bacon on a hot cross bun. Not a fan of sweet and salty popcorn or bacon and maple syrup though.

How about a stick of celery peanut butter?

CynsterBitch · 28/08/2022 11:11

I’m Norwegian, this is a fairly normal combo there

pensionconfusion · 28/08/2022 11:12

It has to be raspberry jam and cheddar cheese for me. Yum 😋

MintyGreenDreams · 28/08/2022 11:16

A friend of mine eats toasted teacakes with cheese on

Thewolvesarerunningagain · 28/08/2022 11:17

Definitely honey and goat cheese, preferably with a sprinkle of crushed walnuts. My son likes apple slices dipped in peanut butter as a snack and I love marmalade and cheese sandwiches as long as the marmalade is a dark one, like an Oxford or Guinness marmalade

DuvetHugger · 28/08/2022 11:18

I don't find this an odd combo. Chutney is similar to jam. Cheese goes very well with fruit. Coincidentally that's what I'm eating now

Cautiouselectric · 28/08/2022 11:24

Been eating this my whole life. It's the only way I can stomach jam. Delicious!

HeyBearILoveYou · 28/08/2022 11:25

A ham and Bonne Maman fig jam sandwich is the best.

FAQs · 28/08/2022 11:27

Quince or chilli I do.

Sausagis · 28/08/2022 11:30

YABU. It's cheese and HONEY!!

Onesmallstepforaman · 28/08/2022 11:34

Cheese and strawberry jam goes back to my childhood, dad had been in the army so maybe came from there? Also marmite with Cox apple sliced into the sandwich. Or, with lettuce.
Cheese and hot cross buns? Only way I eat e-mail! Cheese and fruit cake/ Brack/ tea loaf all good. I probably eat too much cheese😁

jillymcnilly · 28/08/2022 11:38

Scandi classic, at least where we are. I balked the first time I saw a Dane stick jam on top of cheese on a bread roll but now I'm fighting them off for the jam.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 28/08/2022 11:41

Strawberry jam and Cheddar cheese on white bread is a very good thing as is brie or camenbert with a cranberry jelly.

VeridicalVagabond · 28/08/2022 11:54

Cheese and jam are lush. It's not that far different from a nice chutney really, is it? And people pair cheese with fruit all the time.

I also love a nice mature Gouda with honey on a cracker. People are sleeping on the cheese&sweet combo.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/08/2022 12:01

Fruit loaf/ Christmas cake and Stilton is food of the gods!

May I counter your AIBU with asking whether you've tried Brie and lemon curd? It's like eating a cheesecake..Smile

You may! I think we have some lemon curd somewhere. I am trying that later.

I went to Mexico a few years ago and they had a streetfood sweet something with cheese and jam. I can't remember whzt is was with nor what it is called.

If I start this I eat it all day.... cream cheese and seedless raspberry jam on soft white roll. All the good things one should have in a healty diet.

iratepirate · 28/08/2022 12:15

Ohh, yes! Cheese and jam sandwiches used to be a packed lunch treat as a kid.
My favourite is Brie and jam, or maybe brie and grapes, on a fresh baguette.
Also, banana and honey sandwiches or in toast (I realise that isn’t sweet/savoury, but another childhood fave).

Wensleydale cheese and Christmas cake or apple pie.

Exactly this. I only like Christmas cake with Wensleydale, or maybe some sharp cheddar.

I love it!
As a child we had it as a dessert, without bread, including in school. My favourite is quince "cheese" or apple "paste" with cheese.
Here the "cheese" and "paste", translated from spanish, means a jam that has been concentrated enough that it turns into a soft solid, just a bit firmer than butter.

That sounds delicious, I've never seen anything like it in the UK, but would happily give it a try!

NeedNotWantNot · 28/08/2022 12:22

Cheese and jam is quite a popular thing in Norway.
