If you were given £50 to cheer yourself up, what would you buy?

My lovely brother has transferred £50 into my account to treat myself to something after I had a little cry on the phone to him this morning.

Feeling really stumped though as I don’t think I’ve spent money on myself since my first baby was born 8 years ago! I’m determined to treat myself though. Just looking for some inspiration!

A dominos and a few movies for a night in with dp Smile

A massage/facial, an alpaca trek (one of my favourite things to do as can't feel crap with these lovely animals), a day out by the sea with a nice lunch.

Something that you can keep, so every time you use it, look at it etc, you'll remember what a nice thing your brother did. That feeling will cheer you up over and over again!
Maybe a picture, a luxurious dressing gown or bedding, some really good pillows, even a small piece of furniture.

Spa day! I’ve just booked one for £50, no treatments but full use of the facilities and afternoon tea. Nothing to do other than swim, sauna, steam, read, chill by the pool, and eat… ALL day ☺️☺️ Xx

A couple of tops from Next.

How about a nice makeover at Nars or Benefit etc; then use the deposit to buy the bits of makeup you enjoyed being used on you?

Btw, OP, I love this thread and have actually gleaned some nice present ideas for myself.

If you like crosswords/word games and things like that then £25 gets you a year's subscription to the New York Times games website. My other recommendation is a travel sized L'Occitane lavender bubble bath - smells gorgeous and a tiny amount goes a long, long way.

Obvs no-one's read the update, as usual!
Great choice, @GingerAndLemonn
I hope it goes brilliantly & you meet new friends to cheer you on!

You have a lovely brother!

If I had an extra £50 right now I'd but it towards a meal out for me and DH.

Or all of it on a night in with a takeaway and a movie!

rubydoobydoo · 26/08/2022 12:10

And now I've read the update that's a great choice OP!

A light with a peacock base. Very specific but I would love it and it's something that would make me feel indulged and loved every time I used it which would be evert day.
