To ask for your thoughts on having more covid vaccinatinns

I have had covid twice now and had 2 moderna vax in the first round. I was super ill after my 2nd vaccination and didn’t have a booster as a result. I had covid in March 2020 and was really rough & then again in June 22 and was rough but only for a few days.

I don’t really want any more jabs to be honest- I feel like having had it twice plus being double vaxxed is enough but not sure and I wondered what the general view out there now was?

I do understand what people are saying about how the vaccine doesn't prevent covid but it does lessen the likelihood of getting it severely. I'm just not convinced that is true anymore, just based purely on anecdotal data of people I know, some who are unvaccinated and had it mildly and some who are fully vaccinated and had it badly. I don't think the correlation is so strong. It just seems quite random who gets it badly or not.

On a population level, it's reduced hospital admissions from about 9% of cases to about 3%.

That remains true. And is one of the important planks in NHS being able to tackle the backlog. It simply wouldn't be possible if waning immunity isn't topped up, so the majority of the population has the same risk of serious illness as a 50 yo in normal health

Is it definitely due to the vaccines or just due to the newer variants being less severe? That's what I am wondering.

I'm not anti-vaccination by any means. I am just hoping that I'll get some immunity from my recent bout of covid and hopefully the newer vaccines will have less severe side effects and provide longer protection

I’m NHS so yes, I’ll always take the boosters. I’m more likely to come into contact with people who are CEV at work so I owe it to them to do all I can to protect them.

My DS is 5 and hasn’t had the jab yet as he has quite profound SEN and finds doctor appointments really stressful, so we are waiting for a school roll out for the vaccine for him.

I have to say there is no way in hell I am giving my 10 year old DD the vaxx- 14 year old DS hasn’t had any either and he has had covid twice but also has asthma

A lot of people at work have had it lately (I work in a hospital so nearly everyone vaccinated). I think immunity is waning as its been a while since last jab. I will have my covid jab and flu jab in autumn to decrease risk of getting it and more importantly decrease risk of passing it on to immunocompromised patients

I won't have any more. The vaccines made me so poorly that at the worst point I couldn't walk and had to crawl through my house to get water. They also didn't stop me from getting Covid a few months later. Covid was rough but nothing like how bad the vaccines were. I'll definitely take the risk of getting Covid over the certainty of being ill with the vaccines.

This is me too , covid before vaccines - walk in the park ,1st and 3rd vaccine totally floored , had no choice but to take time off work ,covid again after 3rd,very mild cold like.
Head ache for weeks after 1st vacc and 1 period since 1st vaccine ,no proof vaccine is the cause due to my age but was completely regular before .
I am absolutely pro vaccine but did /do still feel uncomfortable about this one .
I just can't face feeling so awful potentially after each future vaccine so i have decided to not have any more for the time being.

Definitely will welcome a booster
