DH has completely changed

My DH has completely altered his worldview/ opinion over the last few years. It was gradual, and only now am I coming to realise the full extent of it. We've been together for 15 years.

He believes in the great reset, believes there will be a nuclear war, covid is a hoax and the vaccines are killing people. He's stockpiled around £3k worth of food/ camping equipment/ knives. Our spare room is full of this stuff. He's also invested thousands into cryptocurrency.

He believes that inflation is all part of the "plan" and all the world leaders are "in on it" together.

I can't take it anymore. He disrespects my opinion by continuing to talk about it daily, even when I've expressed that I do not share the same opinion and don't want to argue about it. He tells me that "I will see when the time comes."

Every time there's news of a celebrity death/ unexplained death of a young person, he blames the covid vaccine. He threatened to leave me if I got it, although changed his mind when I made clear how serious I was.

Aibu to feel at the end of my tether? It's so draining.

Where did the news get their facts from? I bet everyone with opinions on here calling out people trying to fact check things from various sources and that can be anywhere... are not making any effort to fact check the news they listen to. They sit on mumsnet all day and gas light anyone who doesn't have an opinion that fits into their box.

OP I am wondering - if you will ever think your 'unreasonable husband' didn't make such a bad decision now that gas/electric prices and supply issues are in question. Also now that food prices and supply chains are in question. Maybe all that stuff he has been hoarding has gone up in price since he stocked up and saved you a small fortune - maybe not. Do you still feel he has the problem here even after things are slowly unravelling even on the popular news channels?

I am going to assume you think this statistic demonstrates some major problem with the covid vaccine? If so, you are wrong.

Let me illustrate this with a simplified situation to make where you are going wrong clearer. Imagine a disease that kills 100% of people who get it. Imagine also that everyone will be exposed to it, sooner or later. Imagine 100% of people have been vaccinated against it. The vaccine only works in 90% of people. In this scenario, every single person who dies will have been vaccinated. Does that mean the vaccine is no good? No, because for every one person who dies despite taking the vaccine, there will be nine people whose life will be saved by having had it.

Well I've never heard that wonderful explanation before...

Oxygen
Hydrogen
Nitrogen
Argon
Ultraviolet, Ionizing and Infrared radiation

Somewhere around 99.5% of them would also have a history of having been exposed to

Mammalian milk

Probably 95% would have consumed infusions of oxidised Camellia sinensis and a similar percentage infusions of Coffea arabica

It's all a conspiracy of Big Sky and Big Beverage to hide the correlation between their products and death.

Nothing wrong with the explanation and it obviously needs repeating.

It's ironic because by desperately holding onto these claims you are demonstrating you're not able to critically think or adapt your view based on the current body of evidence.

We have robust, replicated evidence demonstrating it was safer to be vaccinated than not be vaccinated. What you are doing is the equivalent of screaming the earth is flat.

If there was emerging data that genuinely showed it was not worthwhile to offer these vaccines to various demographic groups, I would update my opinion accordingly.

I'm not upset, I'm pointing out your posts are nonsense which you're not able to back up with any kind of evidence. This is why you insult everyone instead of engaging with posts.

Maybe just sit down with him and ask him to talk you through and show you any evidence of what has brought him to this conclusion. Just rolling eyes wont help the situation. Obviously research yourself, as the great reset has been mentioned by many world leaders recently, and if you look into the WEF (world economic forum) you will find that it does exist and it does yield lots of political power. Maybe something tangible like this would be a good starting point of conversation. Obviously the other things are a bit deeper. Just try to comunicate with him.

It was 'pushed' to save millions of lives, and it did. If you want to believe covid would have magically petered out then go ahead, but don't talk like that's some obvious truth that should be self-evident to the rest of us.

Where being a conspiracy theorist is a problem is when you see everything in those terms, and comfort yourself by thinking all of life's problems can be explained by malicious powers doing it on purpose, instead of imperfect governments bumbling along for the most part.

That's the path of least resistance, the coward's way out. It's no surprise there's a huge overlap between these people and Trump supporters: they like simple answers to complex questions.

Haven't bothered replying on here as no point but tide is turning on all this. Will be one of the biggest scandels to date but like many other ones when everyone claims to have seen it in retrospect but only a few were actually awake.
