Do you fancy Jarvis Cocker?

I know I'm not alone.

From the moment I first saw him when Common People came out, and he was staring into my soul on Top of the Pops. His voice, his sass, his talent. Even today, I have fancied him since he appeared and still do.

Anyone else?

MY PEOPLE!

I loved him in the 90's and I love him now. I'd climb that tall drink of water like a skinny sexy tree. Grin

When I heard pulp were reforming next year I could have screamed! I can't wait to see him them again!

I'd love to get bruises from his many angles. lol

LOL

Camdenish · 13/08/2022 15:18

I swear I walked past him on the crossing outside Spitalfield’s market in the late 1990s. Whoever it was, was wearing lederhosen. Which seems incredibly unlikely. I don’t know why I didn’t pay much attention and take a second look.

RollerCoasterProteinSpill · 13/08/2022 16:45

Another one who had the poster in her bedroom in her student days. When I moved in with a boyfriend he said we could decorate the bedroom however I wanted as long as Jarvis didn't move with me!
It was a massive poster, almost life size. I talked to Jarvis 😊

CherryRipe1 · 13/08/2022 16:56

Love Jarvis! Seen him live twice and he's got such stage presence. He seems very witty, that dry observant kind of Northern wit. I actually saw him at Hammersmith Broadway once walking along in a brown jumbo cord ensemble, very history teacher ish. Yes he's tall and skinny.

WinterDeWinter · 13/08/2022 17:01

God yes to all this. So lacking in shame - his sexy talk is Ironic and sincere at the same time. He's the only person I can imagine liking the sexy talk of, actually.

Plus he's genuinely very clever and authentically himself.

hangrylady · 13/08/2022 17:12

No. I love Pulp and really like him from what I've seen but I don't go for the skinny indie look.

youdialwetile · 13/08/2022 17:59

Yes! And Brett Anderson from Suede

WinterDeWinter · 13/08/2022 18:48

Brett Anderson was a bit of a prick though wasn't he iirc? No humour.
If I'm honest, this was my hugest crush of the 90s -

I desperately wanted to be Louise Wener. What do I do now…

For me it was Cerys Mathews.

God, I loved Louise W. Those eyes. That voice.

merryhouse · 13/08/2022 20:14

God yes. Though I didn't realise it at the time (we didn't have a tv). He's very like Lovely David who is practically my beau ideal.

When I heard pulp were reforming next year I could have screamed! I can't wait to see him them again!

l was put with a crowd of 40 and 50 year old somethings the other day. All 7 of us were screaming!

When he says ‘Well what else could l do? I said I’ll see what l can do’

Makes me go weak at the knees.

RaininSummer · 13/08/2022 20:19

Like Pulp but just checked some Jarvis pictures then and now and neither float my boat.

I think my favourite album by Pulp is probably This Is Hardcore, when he utters the line 'you make me hard' Sweet. Jesus. Honestly, other than DH, who I of course love dearly, Jarvis Cocker may just be the sexiest man alive to me. He just exudes this... filthy magnetism that I cannot get enough of.

I saw pulp not long before the broke up the first time and it was incredible. I have to see that again. I've seen Jarv Is as well and he's definitely still got it. My mum once saw him at a Leonard Cohen concert and I have never been more jealous of anything in my life. Probably best I don't meet him though, I'd make a right show of myself Grin

Babyroobs · 13/08/2022 20:35

Oh god yes. i love tall skinny men and there is definately something about Jarvis. The only thing I don't like is his small mouth.

Jarvis Cocker at a Leonard Cohen concert? Okay, that's heaven.

Oh yes, I want to be sandwiched between him and Louis Theroux. Tall, skinny, different men are my jam.

stabbypokey · 13/08/2022 20:56

I meant to say diffident men.

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 13/08/2022 20:57

Oooh Louis Theroux.

Him and Jarvis😍😍😍😍

SimonaRazowska · 13/08/2022 21:02

It’s his voice

not the looks

SashaMannDeservedBetter · 13/08/2022 21:05

Oh no!! He’s horrific 😣

the voice is a huge factor. But for me it's the facial expressions and then the cool demeaner. But when I first saw him age 14 it was honestly a huge deal.

Don't forget his lovely, scrawny little bum.
