Do you fancy Jarvis Cocker?

I know I'm not alone.

From the moment I first saw him when Common People came out, and he was staring into my soul on Top of the Pops. His voice, his sass, his talent. Even today, I have fancied him since he appeared and still do.

Anyone else?

God yeah. Have always had a weakness for skinny intellectual looking outsider types

I'm with you here: was always more a Ray Manzarek than a Jim Morrison type of woman. I don't find JC particularly attractive but completely understand why other people do. Charisma is a rare commodity and a total aphrodisiac.

But as far as I'm concerned, the Michael Jackson stunt makes him a-okay by me!

Rosehugger · 13/08/2022 12:21

YANBU. I used to have a poster of him on my bedroom wall as a student. It surprised me as I normally liked men on the beefy side.

hagelslaagfiend · 13/08/2022 12:26

God yes. The voice, the hips. Not my type usually but Jarvis sends me all of a wibble. Especially when he sings "underwear".

GiantSpaceHamster · 13/08/2022 12:26

God, yes. It was I Spy live that did it for me.

CockSpadget · 13/08/2022 12:27

Oh god yes! The man is sex on (very lanky) legs! The way he says "alright" in various songs, particularly in babies, gives me minge twinge!

TopBitchoftheWitches · 13/08/2022 12:27

Nah, you are ok.

Haggisfish3 · 13/08/2022 12:32

He did an excellent podcast for insomniacs. I love it. Jarvis

If we're talking chiselled skinny 90s indie sorts it was this all the way for me

Oh my! 😘

Davethecat2000 · 13/08/2022 12:39

James Acaster is a bit of a Jarvis lookie likey

Do you fancy Jarvis Cocker?
Needhelp101 · 13/08/2022 12:44

I don't, because he always reminds me of my much loved late best friend (who also loved him) but I think he's a grand chap.

I miss the 90s.

MrsPorridge · 13/08/2022 12:45

No. I think he’d be boring and sarcastic. I bumped into him once in a hotel (literally bumped into him).

hoglethotel · 13/08/2022 12:47

@fuckwhatshouldido has nailed it. I too had a poster of him on my wall at uni. He was totally my type - tall, skinny, slightly nerdy intellectual type. Still is tbh.

Endlesssummer2022 · 13/08/2022 12:53

I always assumed he’s be pretentious but he was sitting on an EasyJet flight behind me in 2001 and was down to Earth and low-key. When we disembarked he took a photo with me and my fiends. I asked some bloke who he was with to take the photo - didn’t realise it was another member of the band!

LynneBenfield · 13/08/2022 12:53

No, never have. Too scrawny and pointy. I liked Pulp’s music in the 90’s but I didn’t find the band member attractive. I was more of a Tim Burgess, Damon Albarn, Liam Gallagher type, looks wise. Although Burgess looks mad these days with his bleached pudding bowl.

Foreverinjeans · 13/08/2022 10:16

Yes. Think he'd be amazing in bed!

Yes agreed

@Spidey66 This is amazing!

I would ride Jarvis into the middle of next week.

I walked past him in Soho a few years ago. He was wearing a suit and skinny tie at 2pm on a Wednesday. The man is a legend and Pulp are one of the best bands the UK has ever produced.

Thanks for sharing this Hagel :)

ChrisTrepidation · 13/08/2022 13:06

@Needhelp101 I miss the 90s everyday😪

MistyRock · 13/08/2022 13:07

Someone at school said I looked like Jarvis Cocker. 😂. I am tall, I was quite slim and my legs are skinny and long, I had my hair in a short bob style and have high cheekbones. I'm female by the way 😁 This was back in the day, the mid 90s, I was a bit of an indie type too.

Absolutely poetic.

Pulp live was a great gig. I hope I get to see them now they have reformed. I just played my Different Class CD in the car in our holiday and my kids HATED it. I remembered ever word. I did fancy him a bit back in the day. Not keen on his facial hair now.

ChrisTrepidation · 13/08/2022 13:12

@gotelltheoldmandowntheroad There's not enough words in the English dictionary to describe my love of Jarvis Cocker.

When I die my own personal heaven will just be me, him, Brett Anderson and Richey Edwards all living as a happy foursome in the afterlife.

Spudina · 13/08/2022 13:15

@hagelslaagfiend he messed with lyrics so much singing this, compared to the CD version. Do you think he was off his head??
