Do you fancy Jarvis Cocker?

I know I'm not alone.

From the moment I first saw him when Common People came out, and he was staring into my soul on Top of the Pops. His voice, his sass, his talent. Even today, I have fancied him since he appeared and still do.

Anyone else?

@gotelltheoldmandowntheroad There's not enough words in the English dictionary to describe my love of Jarvis Cocker.

When I die my own personal heaven will just be me, him, Brett Anderson and Richey Edwards all living as a happy foursome in the afterlife.

Lovely. It's been lovely to see, as I expected, that I am far from alone in the intensity of my adoration for this walking pole of charisma and sex appeal.

From the first moment I saw him on TOTP! All these years I thought it was only me 😂
He’s just got ‘something’ .. intensity? Whatever it is, it’s always been a yes from me 👌🏻

Needhelp101 · 13/08/2022 14:07

@ChrisTrepidation I prescribe Human Traffic 🙂

Jayneisagirlsname · 13/08/2022 14:10

I saw Pulp at Manchester Academy just before Different Class came out, and I could not take my eyes off him. So intense and charismatic and his lyrics are poems.

Brett Anderson, Brian Molko are also on my list. Indie boys do it for me!

After reading this thread I suspect that at that time in 1995 there were numerous girls sitting there mesmerised just like myself. I wonder if he knows.

@hagelslaagfiend he messed with lyrics so much singing this, compared to the CD version. Do you think he was off his head??

Not unlikely!

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 13/08/2022 14:28

No, despite loving pulp I could take or leave Jarvis.

I do however LOVE Brett Anderson. and Liam Gallagher 🙈 ‘I’m not stupid mate, I’ve got four GCSEs’ 🤣

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 13/08/2022 14:31

I also really miss the 90s. Specifically the leadmill in the 90s, ideally after a pub crawl down ecce road to get there.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/08/2022 14:33

I really, really fancy him. I thought it was just me.

Spudina · 13/08/2022 14:33

@MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler takes me back to my student days!

beachcitygirl · 13/08/2022 14:34

YES!! Glorious

InsertPunHere · 13/08/2022 14:35

Too lanky and pale, you’d get bruises from his many angles.

I’ve definitely preferred more Dad-bod guys as I got older.

beachcitygirl · 13/08/2022 14:35

Also Ian Mcculloch from echo & the bunnymen - drool

I'd love to get bruises from his many angles. lol

DaisyDando · 13/08/2022 14:39

Of course I do. He said hello to me once, even though we’ve never met. I couldn’t speak.

Takethatandparty30 · 13/08/2022 14:39

Yes, even as a teenager I fancied him, he has something about him. I think the fact his lyrics suggest he is pure filth helps as well! Really hoping to see Pulp live next year.

PaulineFowlersCardigan · 13/08/2022 14:41

@gotelltheoldmandowntheroad All my friends thought I was weird as I would melt just over the way he said certain lyrics.
I wonder if he knows he still has that effect on some of us all these years later!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/08/2022 14:46

When he says, 'Do it quickly' I come over all unnecessary. Grin

It's just him. I would never normally go for that type but it's just him and only him.

Back in the day he had a certain something but he doesn’t do it for me now.

This.

Although, even back in the day i was aware that if a 'normal' person with his type of look walked into the pub i wouldn't look twice. It was def. his stage presence which did it.

I love Liam Gallagher too.

he was fit AS in the 90s. I’ve always liked a bad boy with a good heart (see also Jesse from breaking bad)

No, but each to their own.
