I ordered my shopping from Morrisons via Amazon prime and one of the bags had a massive fly in it.
I know flies are everywhere etc but that's pretty gross I think? It was stuff like berries, milk, hot dogs etc but I don't have any anti bac wipes and the idea of eating food that a flies been crawling and pooping and whatever else all over seems pretty grim, Aibu tk throe ther bag of shopping away?
I do have a tendency to over react so interested what others would do
(I don't particularly have the money to be throwing bags of shopping away but k also don't want us to get sick, and I don't have any anti bac wipes in to give it a wipe over)

To throw this food shopping away???

LMAO! I'm assuming you've never been to a farm to learn how things grow right? I'm assuming you've never seen a garden where things grow either right? You do know that bees and flies and many other creatures crawl on your food right? That's the reason why things need to be washed before eaten or cooked! Get on with life! Flies have been landing on your food for the entirety of time you've been eating food and you didn't even know! Take a field trip to a farm some day and feast your eyes on all of the wonderful food growing that some opossum has urinated near or possibly on! Marvel in the fields of fresh fruits that have had bird poop splattered on them! Then go home, wash your food, cook it and eat it! Relax! Life is too short to worry about all of the things that have touched your food BEFORE you even laid eyes on it! Wash, cook and eat!

I think @mnhq could probably lock this thread since people don't read op's updates 🙄and it's sorted anyway....

Rinse the fruit and veg in fresh water, they don't need anything else to freshen them up and it would be dangerous to use cleaning products directly on food. The other food in packets is fine to eat.

Do you not wash your fruit/vegetables when you put them away?
Seeing as they are grown outside they've probably had all sorts of insects and animals all over them already.
