Not really my AIBU, but whilst it was quite amusing for 10 minutes the mexican stand off outside my house is starting to do my head in

Live in a small village, with small lanes, our lane is pretty narrow but the only straight one that the farmers can use to access the fields at the bottom.

The two farmers who own the land are two brothers who fell out when their parents died years ago, and have not spoken since.

Brother A coming up the lane with his combine. Brother B coming down the lane with his tractor and trailer, neither will reverse to allow the other to pass, this has now been 20 minutes and all I can hear is horns beeping, and the farmers shouting insults at each other via a third party (one of our neighbours) cars are having to reverse back onto the village green and access via another lane.

What a pair of twats. We have a couple like that in my village. Lived here all their lives, think they’re bloody royalty. I always take great joy, should the opportunity present itself, in mentioning that although we’ve only recently moved here, my husband is the fifth generation of his family to live in this village. I swear they twitch slightly.

If you are feeling assertive you could give the farmers a lecture along the lines of how much inconvenience they are causing to others, but i appreciate that is easier said than done.

Haha, I do have a Playmobil farm set, including a tractor, but sadly no combine harvester, so won't be able to recreate this one! But thanks for thinking of me @ElegantlyTouched and @nottoday300 !

This reminds me of the road I lived in in London quite a long road with a slight kink in it so you couldn't see the far end when you turned into it. Cars parked either side. We lived on the kink and there would be regular stand-offs with no-one reversing....usually on Saturday evening. Amusing to watch....but not I suppose if you wanted to get out in an emergency.
