DH is looking at Twitter and it's obviously about Prince William's alleged affair but can't figure out where it's coming from now all of a sudden. Anyone in the know?

So, let’s get this right.. Pippa gives birth to a girl, and her in laws, backed up by the ‘palace press machine’ demand that she and her husband name the baby Rose so that everyone can claim it as proof that there was no affair.

Sure, sounds totally reasonable.

Well clearly you already believe that's a reason for there not to have been affai🙄

vera99 · 29/07/2022 12:04

In the old days' Harry could have tried to assemble an army of nobles and along with his wife marched on London to fight his older brother for the throne. He could probably have got the Scots and Northerners on his side and detour through Wales ready for an epic battle on the outskirts of Luton. Cry ‘God for Harry, England, and Saint George!’ After winning that battle William and Kate would be tried for unspecified unspeakably heinous crimes against nature, had their final prayers with the Archbishop of Canterbury and led to their endings on the block at Tower Hill.

the80sweregreat · 29/07/2022 12:05

I agree that nothing wrong with a moan, but it was a bit of a turning point I think.

bollygu · 29/07/2022 12:08

Meanwhile the country is frothing at the fanny over Kate’s new dress from next she wore twice. She so one of us.

Its such a load of shite. There was criticism recently over Rishis £500 shoes. Obviously if he wears £20 ones he's not a billionaire & knows what it's like to struggle with heating or eating 🙄

@Sux2buthen You’re right. It’s almost shocking why people would be so interested 🤢

This has made me chuckle; clutching your pearls about how terrible the gossiping is… whilst taking time to read and post on the gossip thread in question. Grin Grin

Oh, and Kate got caught shopping in Sainburies once and Prince William cosplayed being a Big Issue seller. One thing I'll give to HM she never did gimmicks even when it required lowering the flag.

StolenWillowTree · 29/07/2022 12:15

MsBucket · 29/07/2022 10:48

What had that got to do with William? None of it makes sense.

Lesser royals are always chucked under a bus to protect the heirs.

Look at the Jason Knauf scandal. Look at the Melissa thingabob scandal with the Tory billionaire Daily Mail journalist. William gave the CEO job of the entire Cambridge Foundation to someone with no qualifications or experience who'd at best badly fucked up his job and betrayed the royals by leaking stories to the tabloids and actively working with the MoS. Obviously Jason was working under William's orders and the CEOship was his payment.

bollygu · 29/07/2022 12:22

Diana was more popular than Charles and so broke the cardinal rule that no one can outshine the monarch and the heir.

Exactly, whoever said it wasn't a popularity contest was wrong. Of course it is, popularity = publicity & power. Look at the headlines around Diana's death demanding the Queen come back etc.

Sux2buthen · 29/07/2022 12:27

@Thepeopleversuswork
None of that makes peoples provate sexual practices public property.
Obviously illegal things are different but if others are getting their jollies in a way they both enjoy they should crack on without other people nosing
(No pun intended)

bollygu · 29/07/2022 12:27

It is odd that William employed Jason after the Meghan thing if you wanted to present a united front.

bollygu · 29/07/2022 12:28

@Sux2buthen I think the interest is the question over who is doing the pegging if not Kate.

Sux2buthen · 29/07/2022 12:30

As long as she's happy about it and appropriately aged that's all anyone needs to know lol

Agreed. The Meghan haters made up a lie that Meghan had brought a Netflix crew to Uvalde so she could exploit a tragedy for personal gain (some posters here even accused actual Uvalde survivors of lying when they tweeted that Meghan had turned up alone with no cameras, just a bodyguard) yet Kate exploited a murdered woman's vigil (Cressida Dick confirmed that it was a work event for Kate and not a private visit), the same vigil that regular women were arrested and roughed up by police just for attending, William uses homeless people as props for yet another PR stunt.

But it's only bad when Meghan does it (except that she didn't).

Notice how the thread has moved off William and onto Meghan? Maybe that's why MN let it stay. Grin

Anyway pp speculating why William would tell anyone about this. I thought the rumour was that Rose was the one who had spilled the beans, and Kate was upset not at the affair but at the indiscretion? If there is any truth to the rumour surely it came from the other person? (Ditto the pp saying it can't possibly be true as William can't go into a sex shop. LMAO! They have discreet staff who can get them anything they want, and certainly Rose would be able to buy things herself! If Andrew can get teenage hookers and coke I'm sure William can send someone to buy a dildo.)

*Obv I mean coke as in the perfectly legal drink cocoa cola. Definitely not implying that Andrew or any other royal has ever done cocaine.

the80sweregreat · 29/07/2022 12:32

Princess Diana was well liked because she was so young when they got married and liked to be seen at pop concerts and was friends with celebs. They both attended the first live aid concert in 1985 and you can see how stuffy Prince Charles looked compared to the much more fun loving Diana who liked Duran Duran and seemed to have 'the common touch 'with people , if it was an act or not she was good at at! It wasn't meant to be like that. PC once said ' my wife is more popular than me' and that hurt his ego a lot. I don't think he liked the competition really. They were a total mis match from the start.

CanYouNotReadTheSign · 29/07/2022 12:44

FWIW, I think William has had at least one affair but it's no comparison to the Charles and Diana shitshow. C&W were together for years before they got married; sufficient time for both to be fully aware of what's expected of them. I couldn't give a shit about the pegging rumours.

stuntbubbles · 29/07/2022 12:46

Sux2buthen · 29/07/2022 11:25

I don't get why people care about whether a couple are into anal play in private. Creepy

Oh, come on – the royals are a drain on this country, entirely pointless, vive la republic and all that, but since we’re stuck with them can’t we at least have a lol about the inherent ridiculousness of them?

Gossip is as old as time. We’re being traditional!

TheKeatingFive · 29/07/2022 12:46

It is odd that William employed Jason after the Meghan thing if you wanted to present a united front.

if you're actually paying attention to this stuff it's pretty obvious what's going on, but most people have no clue who Jason Knauff is.

That won her plaudits. But what won her respect was her AIDS work.
The equivalent today would be Catherine going out on an RNLI Lifeboat to rescue asylum seekers drowning in the sea.
That is how controversial AIDS and working with AIDS patients were at the time. It is why she became a gay icon. And as AIDS became a less controversial political issue, others admired her bravery.
If this was only about being young and dressing well and being good with people, she would have been popular. But only in the way any beautiful, young Royal woman is.

PutinSmellsPassItOn · 29/07/2022 12:56

The palace and press seriously need to come up with a new way of deflecting attention away from negative press instead of constantly selling off harry and Meghan. It's become so obvious even DP nudged me this week and said something must be happening because Harry and Meghan were everywhere. There's was even a very strange article criticising them for photos of their eldest child that had been published. These photos were taken by an absolute weirdo who had spotted them at a parade and sneakily took them. When the article was published the photos werent even available (( id just been online in the hour they first came about)) because their legal team had obviously worked very quickly to have them removed.

TBH I don't think we'll see Harry again after the Queen dies and he shows his face. His dad's a coward who destroyed his mothers mental health, he's such a simpering wimp he has never spoken out over the speculation around James Hewitt. All of which Harrys had to deal with...... I can only imagine the shit he got in school when the News of the world were running front page articles comparing them. If they can put things in place to protect his grubby, shag happy brother. They could have protected the other child from some of the awful speculation and protected him too instead of throwing him to the wolves.

the80sweregreat · 29/07/2022 13:05

Yes to princess Diana and her AIDS awareness in the late 80s and later on her landline campaign too. I did mean to mention this too.
She pushed boundaries and was generally well liked by the public.

PutinSmellsPassItOn · 29/07/2022 13:20

the80s and her work with leprosy victims. She did a hell of a lot of good far beyond being young and pretty.

BLUEG4 · 29/07/2022 13:22

It certainly isn't uncommon for a man with a lot of power /responsibility to want to be put in his place by a dominatrix type as some kind of therapy.

All these things are between the people involved and their respective spouses.

Not everything is an affair (ie betrayal). Some people have their own arrangements.

Unless anything impacts W doing his job (and I think W&K are doing a brilliant job) it's none of our business.

A most enjoyable thread though, dear reader! 🙂

vera99 · 29/07/2022 13:22

As the Commonwealth all topple to republics and they will, it will be a stampede to the doors and the Royals will only be left with their home ground to play on. If we are sleepwalking to some dystopian future and I fear we may be, most folk will give a square of f'all as to who they are and what they are doing. I don't think they get it yet but are dimly aware it doesn't matter what they do, they are heading towards irrelevance at best, or a lightning rod for anger at worst.

whumpthereitis · 29/07/2022 13:24

Didn’t they just hire a new PR man? Outstanding work already.

doesn’t appear that it’s a new rumour. This is from 2015.
