To think it’s perfectly possible to assemble a lasagne in my half hour lunch break?

I did this yesterday and my husband says I didn’t. He thinks I couldn’t possibly have had time, and therefore I must have used working time (I was working from home). I have explained but he’s not listening.

To be clear:
I had the meat sauce in the freezer, so I defrosted and heated it up a bit in the microwave.
I used no-cook lasagne sheets.
So all I had to do was make white sauce and put it all together.
I left it to settle and put it in the oven later.

Perfectly possible, right? I’m kind of flabbergasted that he thinks it isn’t. And very pissed off that therefore I must be lying.

I didn’t get any further than than ‘heated up a bit’ 😱 then not fully cooked.

I know!!!

He'll have food poisoning to worry about later rather than time management 😱

Its perfectly possible - after all, all the elements were done, so it was more or less an assembly job. But even if it werent and you had used up some work time, what does it have to do with him? Tell him to micromanage his way the hell out of the kitchen, he doesnt get to control or oversee how you spend every minute of your day!!! What a boring pedantic jackass.

Of course you can assemble a lasagne in that time.

I'm much more concerned about your abusive husband though.

You know the overuse of the term abusive will not help people who are in genuinely abusive relationships.

He was rude and petty but not abusive.

MN lesson. Never claim to make a ragu in anything under 3 hours. Smile

Where did I say my ragu would take three hours 🤔😂

Meat DOES need some time to soften, certainly not 3 hours but it is going to taste pretty revolting if it simply isn't cooked. It's a fact.

On the very off chance it could be done, Hydrangeatea isn’t wrong though.

Thank you
