Nudity between family

AIBU to think that it is weird that my boyfriend let his mum come into the bathroom for a wee whilst he was nakedly shaving his body (possibly chest, possibly butt). Background: Portuguese family where bf is only child (seen as miracle child) and family are liberal and very comfortable with nudity together and talking about sex.

It's one thing being liberal with nudity but pissing in front of your adult child of the opposite sex is a bit much

I feel the thread is being slightly derailed by the shaving of bums - I'm all for a hairy bum / chest / whatever. He, however, doesn't like it as most of his friends are very smooth skinned / hairless types. Completely agree with the poster who said he should've been able to shave his bum in peace. Just wanted a more general opinion as when I shared with friends that he was naked and shaving in the bathroom (not behind a shower curtain) whilst his mum had a wee, they were all equally as horrified as me! And to the poster who thought it was a stealth brag, starting with my bfs hairy arse isn't the way I'd go about it 😂

I know a few families (all British) who walk around naked, go to the toilet whilst someone is in the bath etc and they wouldn’t find it weird.

We definitely don’t do this in my home now or when growing up!
But I don’t think it’s weird.

What I do think is weird is how many people are shocked that some men choose to shave their bums.

I don’t know any man who doesn’t at least trim his pubic hair and bum hair.

Well, my dad pees with the door open whilst I continue a conversation with him. And I'd pee whilst he was in the shower when we were building the house (so living with limited facilities).

So you are in the bath and your adult sons come in and either have a wee and a poo while you are just sitting there?

I just can't imagine doing that, I am not saying you are wrong but that would just horrify me.

I don't give a shit about nudity but if ANYONE comes in and has a stinking shite when I'm in the bath, they're getting a jug of bath water flung at em!

On threads about female body hair and the social expectations to remove it there's lots of people pointing out men shave their body hair off now too, or women saying they prefers a shaved downstairs area. Lots of women have their bum hole hair removed and bleached now so that it's more practical for anal and oral or just because it "looks nicer" when doing it doggy.

The "back, sack and crack" hair removal for males has been a phrase for as long as I can remember.

I don't think a man removing his own body hair in his own bathroom is odd at all. It's not what dh does and I dont groom my arse either but it's not uncommon for people to do so. Maybe not with their mother watching though. Nights out and busy pubs my Mum and I might use the same cubicle but I wouldn't be ok with her on my toilet while I shaved my arse.

I have no issue with him shaving whichever part of his body he wants. Can't believe people are so shocked that a man might want to shave his chest or bum! That's not the AIBU

Having a wee isn't weird, I've done it when a parent has been in the bath or whatever, comes with having only one bathroom.
