I'm getting married on Sunday

No reason for AIBU, just posting in a panic because it's supposed to be 34 degrees in London.

My make up is going to melt, I'm going to have a sweaty crotch, and my hair is going to be fucked.

If you've gotten married in stupid temperatures please post your tips to not be a sweaty slime goblin. Wedding is at 1, reception starting at 4, dinner at 5. Evening guests from 7.

Do I literally wipe and re-do my makeup at 6.30pm? I've asked the venue to provide ice ice cold water both still and sparking, and bringing iced bottles of water to ceremony for 2 young bridesmaids.

Im honestly tempted to bring a white cotton beach dress and change into that at 8pm. My wedding dress is lined lace 😂 which would have been fine in October 2020 when the wedding was originally planned for - note: wedding is now due to terminally unwell MiL so not really our choice to have a roasting july day.

Wtf England, you're usually 23 and drizzling on this date.

So to conclude I need advice on eyeliner melting, sweaty vag in lace dress, and to help children not faint in London on Sunday. FUCK.

Thank you.

i don’t know about your colouring but if you are natural beige of lash and brow like me, get them tinted. Do patch test tomorrow. No need for mascara. I do my own and deliberately let it smudge on eyelids while it is tinting so I end up with a slight hint of eyeliner look too which lasts a day or so and means I need less eyeliner.

JUST DON'T WEAR MAKE UP!!

Or at least not layers of foundation, primer and powder, good lord. Honestly, you'll look fine in pictures with some mascara, eyeliner and lippy. Or nothing tbqh. You'll look worse if you're visibly uncomfortable with it on than without. I'm guessing your fiance has seen you without it before!

Is there room in the budget for something like this to put out on the tables? JZK 30 White heart folding fan Japanese hand held fan for party wedding communion church travelling cooling fan tool, summer wedding party favour amzn.eu/iAl4CpC

Congratulations, hope you have a fab day whatever you do!

Use minimal make up. Not too much cream and foundation.
You will look gorgeous either way. Use anti perspiration products. Find shady areas. Use the AC in the car. You will be fine ! X

I got married in 37°C. It was fine, my makeup did not melt BUT it was professional make up. I really think you should go to a professional, they’ll have very good products that can stand up to the heat. I didn’t have to touch up my make up at all except for a bit of powder around midnight.

I had 35 degrees weather and it was professionally done with not alot of touch ups. Don't do it yourself op, your face will be streaming and you won't be comfortable. And please, please sort something out for your guests. We had ours in an aircon venue, I think it would be awful and miserable for your guests in this heat.

You can get facial anti perspiration gel for under your make up that works well. I would just embrace that you're getting married in tropical conditions, tell your guests now to bring summer dresses/ shorts to change in to, give all guests a flower necklace and flip flops, provide endless cocktails and play eg hawaiian or caribbean music through the evening.

This may not seem like the practical advice you're looking for, but I would say (from experience) try not too worry too much about not enjoying things because you're too hot and sweaty and worrying your guests will be too hot etc (albeit still plan all the sensible mitigating things people have suggested here to be prepared).

I was very very stressed in the run up to my wedding last year and morning of for various reasons (I was shattered and looked it, work had been mental and extremely stressful, and also the major one, my lovely DF had died only three months prior) so all in all I was really worried I just wasn't going to enjoy it, was wishing we'd just eloped. The reality is, the moment I set off for the chapel with my mum, I had the best time. My DH and I really did have an absolute blast.

So my advice is basically try and just go with the flow and wishing you an amazing day on Sunday!

Sunday is my wedding anniversary and it was 34 degrees last year when I got married.

I took another dress to change in to, we had already relaxed some of the reception because of Covid but just provided more drinks and made everything more chilled out.

i wore less make up than I’d planned and had an adapted hair style so my neck didn’t get hot. It was fine.

Get some of those lunch box/ picnic bag coolers and whack em under your dress. Tuck in the bottom of your bra. You can get squishy ones so once they are melted they don’t feel stiff but still cold. I’m a police officer and do this under my stab vest in the summer. Works like a dream! Congratulations!
