To wonder why William and Kate don't walk out of Wimbledon?

Why are they putting up with Kyrious swearing and shouting?

Would love it if they did? Also wish Novak would complain about it?

He is spoiling the final with his ranting and his commentary. Can't believe Wimbledon are allowing it?

Wish someone would grow a pair and put a stop to it?
Wish they would walk out with George.

What a hot-headed and nasty character. Do something BBC.

He came over as a lout. I do hope that, if he's going to be a frequent fixture for the next decade, he needs to get some help with his attitude. It's not sporting and I bet it's largely a ploy to unsettle his appointment. I'm surprised Novak didn't complain - it would have been reasonable to do so when you think of the fuss made about other distractions at Wimbledon.

Alphapie - yes, swearing is offensive - it's meant to be offensive, and it has no place at Wimbledon, thank you very much!

AArrgghh! Opponent, not appointment.

Krygios’ behaviour spoilt the whole final for me. The sight and sound of a loud man who was constantly angry and who often seemed on the verge of violence brought back horrible childhood memories for me. And I doubt I was the only one - I think a lot of people who have experienced or witnessed verbal abuse (or worse) in their lives would find it uncomfortable viewing.

And as someone above has already said, it was the fact his behaviour was continuous for three whole hours. From memory McEnroe etc had brief outbursts of anger during some matches, but nothing as unsettling as Kyrgios yesterday.

hes been like this for years hes not goin to change been fined every year at wimbledon iirc i remember thinking years ago hows he getting away with it

I'm not a big tennis fan and don't follow the circuit, but - like many I suspect - I like to watch bits of Wimbledon.
I agree with CulturePigeon and Buena that it just wasn't something I want to watch. I turned off. I suspect I am not the only one.

As a pp said, fining someone £3500 from earnings of £1million is not going to impact at all. Surely the tennis authorities have the power to impose something more meaningful - from losing points or games even up to the whole match if he can't control his behaviour. That is what happens in other sports - from verbal warnings, time outs {not feasible in tennis I realise} to the more formal warning of bookings / yellow cards to sending off / being stopped from playing.

I agree, they should leave whilst clutching their pearls. Can't listen to some swearing now can we

No we shouldn’t have to. Or the kids watching. Swearing is aggressive and unnecessary in a family friendly sport.
I can’t see it’s pearl cluchy to expect standards of sportsman ship in an event of this importance.

VestaTilley · 11/07/2022 23:09

They shouldn’t have attended at all because one is an alleged domestic abuser, and the other is a known anti-vaxxer. Not something I’d ever take my son to.

BuenaVistaAntisocialClub · 11/07/2022 23:15

@VestaTilley You really can’t draw an equivalence between domestic abuse and an anti-vax stance.
