To wonder why William and Kate don't walk out of Wimbledon?

Why are they putting up with Kyrious swearing and shouting?

Would love it if they did? Also wish Novak would complain about it?

He is spoiling the final with his ranting and his commentary. Can't believe Wimbledon are allowing it?

Wish someone would grow a pair and put a stop to it?
Wish they would walk out with George.

What a hot-headed and nasty character. Do something BBC.

If they walked out it would be all about them and a bad idea

McEnroe and Nastase were shocking "for their day"? I don't know about Nastase but McEnroe smashing ice buckets and sending ice cubes flying into line judges, and destroying rackets under foot or by smashing them into the court was easily as bad as anything seen today.

Maybe (although it was very personal about the umpire and others today) but he did it now and again, not even once in every game, not continously through every game like this.

JocelynBurnell · 10/07/2022 21:04

Kyrgios was positively angelic today compared to last week's match against Tsitsipas.

Djokovic handled him very well.

Ladybug14 · 10/07/2022 21:04

His outbursts were shocking and unrelenting......and only began when he started to lose.

If his MH precludes him from being respectful and professional, then he shouldn't play

SnowyLamb · 10/07/2022 20:14

The BBC commentary was weird. Andrew Castle seems to actually be in love with him.

He said things like "I known his behaviour isn't ideal, but he seems to have a deep kindness within him" Hmm

Omg 😂😂

I agree. Also, it’s a bit shit using ‘mental health’ as a get out of jail free card for being an arrogant fucking tosser.

JinglingHellsBells · 10/07/2022 21:19

@dottypotter Your post was here long after the match finished so not sure how they could walk out?

I was disappointed with the umpire's hands off behaviour. It was surprising he said nothing.

I've been a Wimbledon watcher (and also been) for decades and this swearing was never allowed. In fact this is the first year I've heard the F word and the player not been given a warning for obscene language.

He ought to have been pulled up in his previous match for the tantrums, and arguing with the umpire, too.

The spectators have also grown more verbal over the last 40 years. The slow hand clap for hawkeye is a PITA and the loud calling out/ chanting didn't happen in the past. Yes , spectators responded but the umpires were quick to clamp down.

EltonsSpareGlasses · 10/07/2022 21:22

MikeWozniaksMohawk · 10/07/2022 20:57

Leaving 10 other players to continue the game, not handing the match and championship to the other player.

And I actually meant he’s probably heard it all from the crowd.

Be thankful Kate, Wills and George weren't at SAv Eng rugby yesterday, where Living Next Door to Alice was piped in and the crowd chanted back the infamous line, including the fuck.

Kite22 · 10/07/2022 21:23

Not really sure which way to vote, as I don't think it is down to the Royal Family to be walking out, but I do think the officials should have responded to his behaviour.
Not just the swearing, but the whole arguing, aggression, and attitude.

Like others, I wouldn't usually support No-vac, but there is no way I could support someone who thinks that is the way to play any sport.

Touchmybum · 10/07/2022 21:26

They looked like they were enjoying the match, so I am sure they didn't want to leave! Plus Kate had to present the trophies so she could hardly feck off mid-match!

I'm a tad tired of smug Djokovic with his lies and his stance on Covid. Plus I didn't want him a Grand Slam ahead of the lovely Roger Federer! I know Kyrios is totally over the top and tiresome, and I don't know why he does it? He's his own worst enemy. He lost the match rather than Djokovic winning it. He needs a coach, and he needs to learn to control his behaviour and stay focused. He is a really talented player when he keeps it together. He's just not committed enough, which is a shame because when he's good (and quiet!) he's a pleasure to watch.

LuluBlakey1 · 10/07/2022 21:27

He reminds me of an unmedicated teenage boy with ADHD. I wonder if he's ever bern assessed. It would explain a lot.

Theluggage15 · 10/07/2022 21:28

Presumably he’ll be playing his mental health card when he’s up for the assault charge. He’s just a nasty little shit and Andrew Castle was embarrassing.

Thwomp · 10/07/2022 21:29

Kyrious might be a very unpleasant individual, but at least he’s worked hard and achieved something with his life. Puts him above Will and Kate.

SpikeyHatePotato · 10/07/2022 21:30

The ADHD angle has been speculated on before, with no formal confirmation either way. However, even if he was prescribed medication, I doubt he would be allowed to play whilst taking them?

NutellaEllaElla · 10/07/2022 21:30

I was shocked to see it and think that the standards at Wimbledon need to be upheld, he should have been reprimanded at the time. He comes across so awfully, I was thinking how glad I was not to be him! It looks like he's a very unhappy, angry man.

Smileyaxolotl1 · 10/07/2022 21:31

LuluBlakey1

maybe.
he’s certainly very teenage.
his mum actually said she thought he had done better this time because he wasn’t playing computer games as much between games and went out to see some sites.

They will have known exactly what Krygios is like and still decided to attend with their son. Who are you to say they should miss out?

Duchess is Patron so expected there to present trophies etc.

At least Nick is interesting compared to Robo-jock.

Gotta love your knowledge of tennis over the last 12 months 😂

Seasoned Wimbledon only viewer are we? Do you remember what happened with Nole back in January?

On topic-I'm sure they enjoyed their day despite Kyrigos and his outbursts! Hilarious when he and the media proclaimed he'd changed!!

Must be a young crowd on MN tonight, I can just about remember McEnroe’s very explosive antics at Wimbledon, now he does commentary on the Beeb!

Agree!

Like or loath players like kyrgios, he draws crowds.

Interestingly the crowd was with kyrgios in the first set and again in the 4th. Djokovic isn't exactly loved universally - he's an arrogant sod who isn't adverse to throwing a tantrum when things aren't going his way.

McEnroe was either loved or loathed too for his antics on court. But he was a huge draw as people wanted to watch him

LuluBlakey1 · 10/07/2022 21:27

He’s had MH issues in the past and has self harmed. There was talk of him getting assessment for possible bipolar disorder.

Rosscameasdoody · 10/07/2022 21:39

SnowyLamb · 10/07/2022 20:58

Maybe (although it was very personal about the umpire and others today) but he did it now and again, not even once in every game, not continously through every game like this.

McEnroe used to regularly insult the umpire and Jimmy Connors would direct his anger at the crowd - was fined for throwing his racquet into the crowd one year, and narrowly missed being disqualified.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 10/07/2022 21:39

I think the invention of extremely accurate electronic line judges would make most of McEnroe's ranting redundant today.

With little or no line call disputes now, why is he always whining? He hardly ever shuts up and the way he was screeching at his box because HE wasn't playing well enough was absurd. Imagine putting up with that.

Yabu for giving them the screen time. Genuinely- who gaf???

RosesAndHellebores · 10/07/2022 21:41

Tennis and it's soectators used to be classy. Stopped being so the day some fans did a poo in the garden of some friends on Wimbledon Park Road. It's all got rather scummy. The LTA needs to have a hard think about the impact on local residents.
