As per title.

She has said she will run in the leadership contest, would be a breath of fresh air.

Jesus. She's like the Wish version of Dorries.

I would be in favour of Suella Braverman becoming the next PM as it would make the Tories even more unelectable and would send them into the wilderness for many years following a GE. Ditto Truss, Rees-Mogg, Dorries - all top picks IMO.

LilyGlobe · 07/07/2022 10:01

She’s a wet blanket. A terrible MP who doesn’t give a damn about her constituents and her voting record is appalling.

Rosehugger · 07/07/2022 10:01

No. Thick as mince.

Mousemat25 · 07/07/2022 10:05

Patel, can we add her to the list of truly terrible cretins that ought never see the inside of Westminster again? And Matt Hancock, Steve Baker, Gavin Williamson, Jacob R-M. All of them are the worst form of pond life and will sink the Tory party into oblivion in no time.

Mousemat25 · 07/07/2022 10:05

And Rabb, how could we forget him?

WatchoRulo · 07/07/2022 10:06

She's about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

NellieJean · 07/07/2022 10:12

Is is it at all possible that somebody who works for Suella Braverman could be on Mumsnet.

Clavinova · 07/07/2022 10:15

Brushteethwashface
I‘m a solicitor and I instructed her a few years ago when she was a practising barrister. She was appalling, completely unprepared clueless and my client was furious. I put her on our firms Counsel list as “do not use”.

Which is odd because I thought she seemed extremely well prepared for her two appearances on Question Time a few months ago - she made Wes Streeting look like an unprepared sixth former.

No. Thick as mince.

Her Cambridge law degree would suggest otherwise.

However she is only 42 and probably doesn't have enough experience - one to watch certainly.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 07/07/2022 10:15

She's another one who lies and is happy to break the law to her own aims. So yeah, if tou want more of the same, she'd make a great replacement.

StoneofDestiny · 07/07/2022 10:16

Yes - she'd be as good as Peppa Pig in running the country.

Coastalcreeksider · 07/07/2022 10:18

Going on our local FB page for Fareham, she doesn't appear to have many fans but Fareham is always a safe Tory seat.

Mousemat25 · 07/07/2022 10:18

Surely Stella Braverman isn’t so lacking in personal awareness to know that she is so irredeemably stupid that there is no way she can run the country.

I have voted Tory in the past. I’ll never vote Tory again if the proposed PM is anyone who has served in Johnson’s cabinet. They are all too awful.

Dotjones · 07/07/2022 10:22

She's a disgrace. The assumption that not having an old white man in charge is automatically a good thing is just as bad as assuming old white men are the best people to be in charge. Look at their record. The fact she's largely unknown isn't a good thing. Honestly, she'd be pretty low down my list of suitable Tory MPs, there are far more honourable and competent options out there. (Relatively speaking of course, no MP of any party is honourable or competent on any normal scale.)

Chickychoccyegg · 07/07/2022 10:25

So I guess you never got the replies you were hoping for op 😂
She comes across as a complete wet wipe and not particularly intelligent (although I'm aware she must have some intelligence due to her degree)

stopringingme · 07/07/2022 10:25

She is live on BBC Parliament at the moment.

Mousemat25 · 07/07/2022 10:28

Like so many other of the possibly candidates, I think the fact she is relatively unknown can only be a good thing. Cause every time she opens her mouth she puts the listener in no doubt to her incompetence.

GreenLunchBox · 07/07/2022 10:29

A lawyer that encourages breaking international law and has no respect for the rule of law. Sounds like someone Brexit Britain deserves, to be fair

IpanemaBelle · 07/07/2022 10:29

Utterly unsuitable, I listened to her on radio 4 this morning, dreadful.

Anothernamechangeplease · 07/07/2022 08:50

Is the OP being ironic? Can't believe anyone would actually think this.Confused

Why do you think we've just had to endure BlowJo? There are people that think like this and they walk among us Confused

Kendodd · 07/07/2022 10:32

Can we remember, nothing the majority of the public think matters. The choice lies with Tory party members. These people have said in polling that the break up of the UK, violence erupting in NI and even their own children losing their livelihoods and homes is a price worth paying for brexit. These are the people who will be choosing the next leader of our country and its direction of travel.

Havanananana · 07/07/2022 10:35

Only if she changes the law to allow:

  • Free of movement with the EU;

  • A caring, welcoming approach to immigrants rather than the current hostile environment;

  • Re-joining the Erasmus programme and freedom to study across the EU

All of which she and her family have benefitted from but which she has been an ardent supporter of abolishing.

SavingsThreads · 07/07/2022 10:35

The only palatable tories to be PM are Justine Greening or Chris Skidmore

pyjamasituation · 07/07/2022 10:38

ConfusedConfusedConfused She is an absolute utter knob!!!!!!
