She has said she will run in the leadership contest, would be a breath of fresh air.

She's appallingly incompetent.
And has deliberately supported Boris Johnson (and his government) 's lawbreaking.
So she'd be an excellent replacement if you think Boris has done a good job.
She would be completely crap if you actually wanted a proper grown-up serious politician to do the job properly.

A close friend of mine used to work in the Attorney General's office and I remember pulling faces at my friend (I might have also sent a few links from the press saying she was useless) when she got the role. My friend (being a much nicer person than me) was open to seeing what she was really like and after meeting her on her first day said she seemed really nice. My friend worked closely with her (don't want to say too much for obvious reasons) and soon realised she's a complete idiot. An ambitious idiot that ticks all the right diversity boxes but an idiot nevertheless. My friend left the AGO, as did a number of others (note that none of these people have a problem with previous AG's).

No. I sometimes think even given some of the rhetoric about even say Theresa May that some people just don't care. Because having a female minority woman in power is not the wonderful progressive move you think it is. However all that aside, even if Sunak or Javid throw their hat in their ring for all their 'strong' points they're not white thus I don't think have a hope in hell. You're talking about the highest office in the land here. I don't think the general public are ready for that now if ever at all.

I wouldn't be so sure this isnt a real post. Suella is very much admired by a certain contingent on Mumsnet because she spoke out against gender non conforming children being treated with respect in schools. There was a big thread about her a few weeks back with people saying things like "thank God for suella".
