As he says men are women. He doesn't think this, or believe it, he just says it because he is weak and a liar.

However you define a woman the Tory party are no friend to us.

Between the two I can't understand why any woman would continue to think the Tories are the best answer. Look at austerity and the very conservative views held by senior Tories with influence e.g. Jacob Rees-Mogg or the recent comments by Danny Kruger . Where is your post about his views on abortion access and how damaging they are for women.

Musmerian · 06/07/2022 10:43

His name is Keir not Kier. And yawn to the rest of it.

I don’t agree. They are the party closest aligned to my values, and as some seem to forget, the only party to have given the country two female Prime Ministers.

And I'm not sure what Stage Mother has got to do with it either, it's fiction.

April Ashley’s life wasn’t fiction. Maybe you should watch the C4 documentary about her. It’s bloody heartbreaking.

CloudPop · 06/07/2022 11:46

Bear in mind they were all happy to keep going, after all the lies and corruption, until a MAN got sexually assaulted.

What values would those be then? Apart from the TWANW stuff.

Summerwhereareyou · 06/07/2022 12:44

Op I agree

Labours sleep walking into this woman/girl crisis is horrfying.

They need to get a grip now.

...perhaps consider why we have this shit show of a government with an utterly despicable man as PM and Labour still can't cut it...

I'd say a combination of a mostly right wing media and trauma bonding.🤷‍♀️ The Tory party have created hardship, chaos and fear and then make out they're the only ones who can save us.

Right wing media? The Guardian carries more blame than any other publication IMO.

Op I agree

Especially as it isn't those that are most vocal that are concerned about this issue.
Currently 55% of the poll says I'm not being unreasonable although the comments mainly say I am.

You mean the crisis in women's single sex spaces that the Conservative government are responsible for?

ladygindiva · 06/07/2022 14:29

yeah; I disagree with him on this one issue but I still want him to be pm as he seems an intelligent and moral person as opposed to the absolute immoral fuckwit we have now.

Justkidding55 · 06/07/2022 14:34

Better a white lie to avoid offence than a prime minister that tells massive great whoppers, then changes the law to make himself unaccountable to said lies, and also goes out his way to offend.

Justkidding55 · 06/07/2022 14:34

Anyone is better than boris or another Tory

JemimaPuddlegoose · 06/07/2022 14:37

It's extremely sinister and alarming how the far right wing are exploiting gender critical concerns to push their own political agenda onto women. Clearly these people don't give a shit about women.

The far right wing are extremely anti-women, and they are not anti-trans due to any concern about women's rights or women's spaces but due to hatred of all LGBT people.

I've seen a number of very alarming threads here - threads that use GC beliefs to push homophobia and lesbiphobia, threads using GC beliefs to promote rapists and men who want to outlaw birth control, threads saying we should love Donald Trump or even leaders of white supremacist hate groups because they are anti-trans.

Honestly, if you had to choose between two: a wife-beating sexual predator who protects rapists and wants to overrule women's rights, reproductive rights, and make women in Handmaids and chattel, but who also happened to be anti-trans.
Or a person who is none of those things, but might conceivably lead to you peeing in a public loo that had a tranwoman in another cubicle.

Are you really saying you're willing to choose rape and forced reproduction, over the possibility of coming into contact with a transwoman?

That's without getting into how evil and deceitful the Tories have been, the constant constant non-stop lies, and how much they've destroyed our economy and the NHS. Would you be willing to starve and have no hospitals, just to be able to keep transwomen out of public toilets?

What values would those be then? Apart from the TWANW stuff.

A progressive but not punitive tax system, full membership of NATO, skill-based immigration policy, to name a few.

I’d prefer a health system more like the one we have in France, but as the NHS seems to be viewed more as a religion here than a public service I know that that’s not likely to happen.

Yodaisawally · 06/07/2022 14:47

Penny Mordaunt is the bookies favourite for next leader of the Conservatives.🙈

OneOfThoseOldFashionedWomen · 06/07/2022 15:42

Being gender critical is not the same as being anti trans.
