To say Kier isn't honest

As he says men are women. He doesn't think this, or believe it, he just says it because he is weak and a liar.

OP didn't mention the conservatives though 🤔

Ever heard of inferred meaning?

SausageAndCash · 05/07/2022 21:40

OP:

Keir.

Not Kier.

So, Johnson is fighting for survival and "coincidentally" this thread, slagging KS off, appears...Hmm

Exactly my point. There have been a few threads in the same vein this evening, since news of the resignations came out. The OPs are so obvious, they're not even trying.

With every post the thread remains on active threads, so millions of people can see whatever three word slogan we are being fed today ("Keir isn't honest" or perhaps something more complex like "Angela Rayner is a meanie poo"). A tried and tested technique.

I refuse to feed this so I'm off.

NashvilleQueen · 05/07/2022 21:43

Tonight we are focussed on the shit show in government. Maybe you should be too OP.

OvaryActions · 05/07/2022 21:44

MythicalBiologicalFennel · 05/07/2022 21:06

FFS not another thread. You people sound desperate now

Having conversations isn't desperate though.

Desperately trying to extinguish those conversations is though 😅
Is it worrying you that more and more are starting to question what's going on?
There will be more threads, more conversations (and more sunlight) as more people become aware. It's only natural.

Myotherusernamesafunnyone · 05/07/2022 21:44

Anothernamechangeplease · 05/07/2022 21:16

Well, KS is obviously wrong on this subject, but it isn't a lie as such. It is an ideological statement, based on a definition of "woman" in terms of gender that I don't accept or agree with, but it is not a statement that is said with the intention of actually deceiving anyone.

Challenge this ideological nonsense, by all means, but let us not pretend that this is anything like the dishonesty that we have repeatedly seen in the shameless, squirming liar that we currently have as PM.

The two are not comparable. One is guilty of faulty logic and addled thinking. The other is guilty of a complete and utterly lack of integrity or basic moral decency.

I know which I would choose.

This

Travis1 · 05/07/2022 21:47

Oh look Tory cunts caught out and in hot water and a Labour bashing thread appears. Whodda thunk’d it eh? 🍪

artisanbread · 05/07/2022 21:48

I swear these threads are started by Tory HQ as a distraction. It seems to be a much more contentious issue on MN than in real life. Women's rights are very important to me. However, I cannot support a single issue against the vast long list of heinous things the current government are doing.

Most of the things people are complaining about - loss of single sex spaces etc, are happening under a TORY government. Do you see them doing anything to stop it? Is there any evidence at all that they give a tiny f*ck about women's rights? Which bills have they put forward to support women?

OvaryActions · 05/07/2022 21:49

Come on @Jott you know very well there are a huge amount of people involved in this conversation around women's rights who have always voted left/Labour.

Criticism of Labour ≠ praise for the conservatives

FridayiminlovewithRobertSmith · 05/07/2022 21:52

For goodness sake 🙄

Oh dear. Let's spell this out: the OP didn't start this thread out of concern for women's sex-based rights. It's an orchestrated (and yes desperate) attempt at distracting from the government crisis, crudely put together by someone who has a vague idea that many MNetters are, like me, gender critical and proud.

OneOfThoseOldFashionedWomen · 05/07/2022 22:15

Nope, not a Tory bot or otherwise. A life long Lib Dem support, I was a fully signed up and active member. Also prolific on this site feel free to report me, MN can affirm I'm not new.

No I don't think the Conservatives are a friend to anyone but themselves but at least they can define me. I feel it is important to keep this issue alive. A party that can not define me can not freeze policies that will help me. I am disappointed that the only party addressing this issue are the Conservatives, a party who I have no political allegiance.

It is not a ideological statement, it is a refusal to accept biology. The definition of women is adult human female. A man having the feelz does not make him one.

Apologies Keir, that was an lapse

Nope, by a regular poster on MN and the feminist boards. A regular gardener and poster.

How many refuges have lost funding under the tories? How many extra women in poverty. You're all so obsessed with trans people you'd back any misogynistic prick that agrees with you! Lie down with dogs you'll get fleas. I bet the US supreme court would agree with you though so I guess you have powerful allies.

Yup, distract, divide etc. Not working. Everyone knows this government is collapsing. A thread on MN propped up by Tory bots isn't going to change that.

But you can't help those women in poverty if you can't define what they are.

Agree the government is collapsing and so it should, doesn't mean we should accept whatever the opposition offers us.

It isn't wrong to want a better alternative.

If you have concerns about the OP then report it. It's not on to jump on posters with unfounded accusations and assumptions.
Let people talk. Nobody is going to be distracted from the Tory shitshow FFS people aren't idiots 🤦🏽‍♀️

Tirednurse1 · 05/07/2022 22:27

As a socialist I don’t trust Keir Starmer. I left the Labour Party one month after he was elected. I consider him to be of Blair like substance. (Which is not a good thing).

However, anything is better than the current government. Poor women, Single mothers, disabled women, LGBT+ women and women of colour are suffering under the current government. They deserve better.

TooBigForMyBoots · 05/07/2022 22:29

The Conservative Party can no more define you than any other @OneOfThoseOldFashionedWomen.Hmm

A week after KS gave his rubbish answer on Andrew Marr, PM Johnson did the same on GB News. www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1501654/Boris-Johnson-GB-News-latest-Conservative-Party-speech-woke-cancel-culture-woman-cervix-vn/amp
The guy will say anything, surely everyone knows that by now.🙄

Under the Conservative government, numbers of male bodied folk in women's spaces has rocketed. To the extent that women are having to legally fight for their right to safety and privacy.

They have refused to make misogyny a Hate Crime.
They have refused to enshrine abortion rights.
Under the governance of this bunch of sex offenders, perverts and shysters, rape has been practically decriminalised.

Oh and Penny Mordaunt is being tipped as a potential future leader.😲

The Tory Party doesn't give a shit about women's rights.

Just out of curiosity why have you chosen to post this on a night where people suspect it might be BJ's last then?

To be honest, I'm not sure where I stand with this debate. What I disagree with is people using it to deflect attention away from yet another crisis with the Tories and make out they are the champions of women's rights when they are far from it.

OneOfThoseOldFashionedWomen · 05/07/2022 22:31

I don't think anything is better tirednurse

I won't vote Conservative but I can not vote for Labour, Lib Dems or Greens.
