As he says men are women. He doesn't think this, or believe it, he just says it because he is weak and a liar.

OP posts:

Directed at OP^

worriedatthistime · 05/07/2022 23:36

Its loosing them votes though so they do need to wake up to it

worriedatthistime · 05/07/2022 23:39

Al those bashing the OP they have not said they support the torys either
And so many labour supporters cannot see that we have a tory goverment because the opposition has not been credible either
Op may vote for another party or not all
I have no issue with people identifying with who they wish but I still want to be recognised as a women and have women only space , people lost their lives getting these rights

Florenz · 05/07/2022 23:40

The Tories aren't great for women's rights but at least they recognise women.

I don't know why Starmer is saying that men are women as it is something that will lose him more votes than it gains.

worriedatthistime · 05/07/2022 23:42

@Florenz exactly and then we may end up with what we have now , can people not see that

Valeriekat · 05/07/2022 23:47

But they aren't women are they? They are trans women which is fine.
I think he means well!

onanotherday · 05/07/2022 23:54

HelloThereObiWan · 05/07/2022 21:25

Tory bots out in force tonight. Everything is looking bad for Boris so they've got to stoke that culture war again.

Yep....smacks of desperation...

Libertybear80 · 05/07/2022 23:55

Go away Boris!

I cannot believe that he is clueless enough to believe all that gender woo. I can believe that he is too cowardly to admit he doesn't believe it.

RockinHorseShit · 06/07/2022 00:10

It is not a ideological statement, it is a refusal to accept biology.

No, it's a better understanding of biology than you fools clearly have🙄.

You must be so insecure in your own femininity to feel so threatened by a trans woman. Bonkers

HRTQueen · 06/07/2022 00:14

I think he is a man of integrity

he made a mistake with this and it will come back to haunt him

I don’t agree with his stance but I still think he is a decent person. That doesn’t necessarily make him a vote winner

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 06/07/2022 00:20

Does anyone seriously think the Tories give a fuck about this issue beyond saying what they know a certain demographic want to hear?? They lie about everything for goodness sake.

MangyInseam · 06/07/2022 00:31

I think I would say disingenuous rather than an outright lie. I think he knows gender ideology is in fact an ideology but he chooses not to accept that people who disagree with it are within their rights to do so.

The Tories have made a lot of movements towards trying to sort this, in terms of lobby groups, in terms of sports, in terms of schools, and especially in terms of what the science actually say about the medical transition of children.

If they are doing all that just to get votes - which is to say because that is what the public wants - that is not a bad thing. It's what governments in democracies are supposed to do.

Their personal feelings about any of it are really beside the point. People can feel all kinds of things and be damn ineffective.

MangyInseam · 06/07/2022 00:36

I will say - I think political leaders sometimes have to leave their personal ideas out of things and go with the position of the party or the government, whatever. That's just the reality.

But he's picked a bad horse on this one, and I suspect mainly because he is not strong enough as a party leader. Which seems to be a common problem for Labour and limits their political viability.

BreadInCaptivity · 06/07/2022 00:50

I think he's a charisma fee zone who panders to ideology rather what's right for the country.

I was a party member for over 20 years but wouldn't vote for him or the LP as stands and that makes me sad.

I'm politically homeless because our opposition party is full of craven MP's scared shitless by a deluded membership to whom they are now beholden to (thanks Ed Milliband).

For all the negative comments towards the OP perhaps consider why we have this shit show of a government with an utterly despicable man as PM and Labour still can't cut it.....

TooBigForMyBoots · 06/07/2022 01:04

...perhaps consider why we have this shit show of a government with an utterly despicable man as PM and Labour still can't cut it...

I'd say a combination of a mostly right wing media and trauma bonding.🤷‍♀️ The Tory party have created hardship, chaos and fear and then make out they're the only ones who can save us.

This is old news and tbh who cares? I care way way more about the lies and shit our PM spews out every day

Kidsaretryingtodestroyme · 06/07/2022 04:08

Why do people like the OP always claim they are a ‘lifelong lib/lab voter’ or a ‘card carrying member’ as though this cements their credentials? It never rings true. Not to me anyway and even it was, it doesn’t make me sit up and listen anymore than if someone were to say they were a floating voter or said nothing at all.

Parties change, leaders change. Saying you used to always vote for the same rosette regardless of policies/leader/behaviour is weird, not something I would respect more.

Notmyfirstusername · 06/07/2022 04:11

Boris is the epitome of Mayor Quimby in the Simpsons, believing a single word he says on any issue is a very big mistake, but especially looking at his history regarding the treatment of women and his protection of colleagues investigated for and arrested for various sexual offences.
you must know that if a powerful man he wanted to impress or grift money/gifts from changed gender tomorrow, he’d be the one leading the charge against removing our rights in favour of self ID in a second, the same way he reversed course on Brexit and pretty much every other issue he’s ever pretended to stand for in his political career, he even lied to parliament and the Queen.

TheKeatingFive · 06/07/2022 04:24

No, it's a better understanding of biology than you fools clearly have

Erm, say what now? 🙄

The stupidity on here reaches new depths.

As for Starmer, it's weak pandering to the ideologues in his party. I don't believe for a second he thinks it's true. It's not surprising people won't vote for that.

SummerPuddings · 06/07/2022 05:47

Is that you Boris? Hmm

StopStartStop · 06/07/2022 06:03

Yes, OP, you are right. Don't trust him. Don't trust any of the others.

Supersee · 06/07/2022 06:13

I wouldn't vote Tory if you paid me. Also can't vote for Labour while they're buying into the nonsense that TWAW. They are trans women aka biological men. And should be proud to say so.

It's getting farcical now. Are people so thick not to realise the problems buying into this ideology will cause - or is causing women? You know the ones with vaginas.

rwalker · 06/07/2022 06:21

Difficult to say as it's not often anyone hears from him
