To think that takeaway pizza isn’t worth it?

Takeaway pizza is often very expensive and when compared to a similar offer from a supermarket can come to double or three times the price.

I find the supermarket alternatives just as suitable however have come under fire recently for dissing dominos in this way.

How do others feel on what I didn’t realise was such an emotive topic?!

Our local pizza delivery is poor. I tend to buy fresh plain cheese in the local supermarket and add good olives, anchovies, capers etc if I crave a pizza. There is a woodfired pizza van that comes to a local market on a Wednesday. They have started to aim for the local teen market so it has gone more cheap and fast than the well cooked non plastic ingrediants they used before.

Supermarket pizza is definitely not as good as takeaway pizza.

This is one of our homemade pizzas. It's about 16" and serves four. The toppings are pepperoni and Italian sweet sausage. Including the dough from the Italian market, the cost is about $8. And it's delicious.

I won't use dominoes these days.

Sainsbury's do a deal where you can get 2 huge freshly.made pizzas, cooked in a proper oven, with a garlic bread, dip and a coke and it costs less than a single pizza from dominoes.

Dominos pizza is literally my favourite takeaway!
I know it's absolutely over priced, but I just love it.
Reminds me of being in my twenties, rough on the sofa all day with nobody bothering me and nowhere to go and also my uni days!
Maybe I'm just paying for the nostalgia! Who knows, either way I want one now

I actually really like a Dominos/Papa Johns but it is SO expensive and barely worth it unless you can find a 50% off code.

We’ve found supermarket pizzas that we quite like (£1.50 from Sainsburys) so we quite often just buy those and have them with some breaded chicken etc on a Friday night instead.

I must admit I really like takeaway pizza. Dominoes is good value if you get a deal. Local independents are lovely but too pricey for us.

I do make pizza at home which is very good, but I get sick of cooking!

Supermarket ones are nice but not as good as takeaway or homemade! I haven't tried loads though.

YABU takeaway pizza is very expensive for what should be a cheap product. My favourite cheap pizza is ristorante pollo 😳. Supermarket fresh ones are becoming really good.

Domino's pizza is horrible

We bought an ooni gas pizza oven. Nothing else compares to be honest. One pizza takes one minute to cook, and it’s cheap to make the dough yourself (or keep in the freezer). It is absolutely the nicest pizza ever, and great for using up leftovers.

Pizza is like sex, even when it's a bit shit it's still quite good. Dominos = bit shit sex, wood-fired pizza oven pizza = amazing sex.

If we get takeaway pizza, we tend to order it from the local Italian restaurant.
DH got a pizza oven last year and he gets his dough balls from them too at a really good price, so saves us doing the dough prep

Well Dominos is disgusting!
A proper wood fired Italian pizza is different from the supermarket. But I don't eat it often enough to be that bothered honestly.

Sometimes we make our own. That's good!

I like both, sometimes i like a sourdough supermarket pizza, but sometimes i just want pizza from my local square pizza shop (square pizza is the way forward, no wasted space in the box and the middle slice with no crust feels perfect in those moments).

Save your money for a pizza oven. You'll never look back. Great in the summer with the kids - can make and bake outside, no mess and they cook really quickly. I highly recommend you buy one of these, you'll never have a tragic pizza again!

Same! I bloody love dominos and it’s my go to takeaway. I also love Asda’s pizza counter, soooo good!

We had a Dominos a couple of weeks ago, first time for a long time, £5.99 deal for any size pizza if collected, It was huge, very nice and had lots of topping. We will do again when there is a decent deal on instead of £30ish on chinese or Indian food.

Love Dominos. Am easily pleased though 😁

We get 2 medium and 1 large (2 toppings on each) for £19.97 and that feeds 4 of us (teens get a medium each).
