Obviously all restaurants/takeaways have overheads, staff etc to pay. This adds to the cost.
I used to make pizzas in a local takeaway. The cost of ingredients compared to the purchase cost was ridiculous.
Bases were brought in frozen, massive tins of sweetcorn that were cheaper than we can get for a smaller one in the supermarket.
All meats were frozen and cooked on top of the pizza.
The cheese was also frozen, though that was the best bit, I freeze grated mixed cheese for our pizzas now. Settles and cooks better.
Kids love Dominoes, Pizza Hut & Express. They are so expensive though. For a family of 5, even with vouchers it's a lot of money.
I found a dough setting on our bread maker, it's great! We take turns adding the ingredients and putting it on. All get toppings ready depending on what we prefer.
The sauce is passata with herbs, onions, garlic and a tiny pinch of sugar. If I'm super organised it's the pasta sauce I use for the kids that I blitz with loads of vegetables in.
We also make garlic bread with the dough, literally garlic and butter, is bloody lovely!
We got a pizza stone for the oven but it's fine just on trays.
My mum got an outside pizza oven, it's amazing and another reason why the kids have to visit
