AIBU here 😂. I've been given some birthday money for my 40th and really want to spend it on some house bits that are helpful to my everyday life. I really want to get my life and house into order. Was thinking about a robot vacuum etc. Any other ideas?

Definitely a robot vacuum - it is not quicker but it s a job you don't have to do yourself so a big time saver.

Is a robot vacuum a small purchase? 🤔

Slow cooker
Heated clothes rail
extra freezer to store batch cooking

I got my robot hoover from Amazon warehouse. I paid £65. Absolutely worth every penny as I hate hoovering (mobility issues) and now have a decent floor with no effort.

A drinks cabinet and suitable glasses for a variety of cocktails. I've given up the thankless task of keeping my house immaculate and started working on things that bring me joy!

can be one hundred if you get it on special offer. Would say compared to the time it saves - and potentially paying a cleaner I feel it pays for itself.

Do you think I can part exchange for a (not very bright) Labrador?

VladmirsPoutine · 03/07/2022 14:35

More specific due to my circumstances but an AirTag and a power bank!!!

anybloodyname · 03/07/2022 14:37

Decent air fryer ? I love mine and now wish I'd spent just a little more for a Ninja or similar

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 03/07/2022 14:37

Oooh, I’m willing to swap my slow cooker for the not very bright Labrador.

ItsMutinyontheBunty · 03/07/2022 14:38

Instant pot with air fryer! I have a Duo Crisp. Had it almost 2 years and still use it most days and it saves loads of time cooking nice meals.

That's horrible

minipie · 03/07/2022 14:41

Really good kitchen knives, grater, peeler

Library membership and Libby app - free ebooks and audiobooks.

Ceiling clothes airer

Garden sofa - cushions are a pain to store but it’s soooo comfy

Small table next to my seat on the sofa

mrsjackrussell · 03/07/2022 14:43

A remoska oven. Can cook anything in them even a roast. I use mine a lot. No waiting for the oven to heat up.

Was really holding out for a Smart Pug as I wanted dog for a dog but….It’s a deal. Although you’ll have to share him!

Small purchases: lots of pegs. Way more than you think you need. I always have loads and still run out on those sunny days when you wash everything in the house.

Bumper packs of: foil, clingfilm, plastic bags, greaseproof paper. Throw all your Tupperware out and buy new ones that all have lids.

12 teaspoons.

12 white flannels.

Do you have to hand - good scissors, plenty of sellotape, envelopes, all-purpose greetings cards, paracetamol/Calpol, plasters, micropore tape, spare toothbrushes, bobbles, a lint brush, decent coat hangers, bags that fit your bins, etc etc?

In short you could spend maybe £100 but sort out every tiny annoyance in the course of a day. I did this once and it was so worth it!

tararabumdeay · 03/07/2022 14:57

I clicked to say 'Robot Vacuum'. Mine was £70 special offer Amazon (but I haven't seen them that cheap since.

Carpets have never been so clear and fluffy. Still need Henry for the big stuff but the robot, in the morning while having a cuppa, makes it much better to come home to.

Thing is, I've already got a Labrador that's far too clever for his own good. I'd love a not very clever one for a break, definitely share!
