Story of girl allegedly raped by father in Greece

letitgo · 01/07/2022 07:51

Has anyone seen this?

It's a strange story and the daughter has waived her anonymity to sell her story on the paper but in the effort of helping her dad who is in Greek jail who she says didn't rape her.

She is unemployed but was on holiday in greece with just her father.

She has children but remains in greece refusing to go home and leave her dad until he is released.

It's absolutely baffling. If her father is innocent then this is truly horrific for them to go through. But I'm not sure I'd want to be in greece along than back home with my children after such an ordeal. Not sure who is looking after her children.

I dont want to "pile on", but there is a reason that snogging your brother isn't right?

@AtwilightRebellion I lived in Crete for 6 years I lasted in Malia for 1/2 a season before I couldn't bear it any longer. My experiences of the law in the 2 months I was in Malia

  1. Boss attempted to rape english female member of staff, she fought him off. Sentenced to 9 months for assulting him, parents paid her out after 3 months. Nothing happened to him

  2. Someone took dislike to male worker, group kidnapped him from bar took him and beat him, witness threatened by police, no action taken

  3. Personal experience Greek boyfriend beating me in street, tourists tried to help me by taking away from him to police station. Police lectured me on my faults and put me in cell ,laughed as he then proceeded to beat me in the cell.

  4. Most morning on walking home seeing men sexually abusing women and men passed out on the street. Normal people are obviously horrified a CCTV but as an ex bar worker trust me there is no such thing as too drunk, if they can pay for the drink they can drink it. Malia strip in the morning was full of litter and people passed out.

  5. Scams, bike shops telling tourist no helmets are ok, police waiting on route to stop them and fine them for not wearing helmets.

This happened in Malia as it is a booze and sex holiday and yes the majority of the Cretian people I met in better areas were lovely but the attitude is different to women. Thing I was told that were normal Men will either cheat or beat. If they want sex then it is a womans job to do that and if they cheat it is something you are doing wrong. There were many time when I was walking home alone that I was in danger and the only thing that saved me was the fact I was sober

I do honestly believe after seeing a cctv video that she was too drunk to walk and he was trying to get he up but being drunk himself failed. It's a scene I'd seen 4 or 5 times a night every night which would explain the lack of interest by the woman behind the bar.

You never saw a Greek woman either working or drinking on the Malia strip and if an tourist approached a Greek woman on the beach or in a bar in a nice area he would soon be ejected. By my second year I had learnt the Greek newspaper would stop any male attention.

Can’t believe someone thinks snogging your brother when drunk (or at any time) is normal 🤯

With respect you need help seeing what is normal behaviour. Snogging your brother is disgusting and in no way, shape or form normal 🤮

Notice this hasn't really hit the news

A British tourist has allegedly being raped on the tourist island of Crete by a taxi driver.

The victim, 43, claims she asked the driver to take her back to her hotel before she was driven to a secluded area and raped.

The taxi driver had picked her up from a bar in the town of Hersonissos in Greater Malia in the early hours of the morning.

The woman was medically examined after the alleged incident on May 31.

After the woman gave a description to local authorities, a 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape.

He has denied all allegations and claims the encounter was consensual.

He has been released pending further enquiries.

The way I see it is my feelings got confused while we were drinking.

No-one drinks that much that they start snogging their brother. I hope you are a troll because that is repulsive.

Doorsdoyle · 03/07/2022 00:12

Jesus I hope the snogging your brother thing isn't real 😮who thinks that's normal?

I know the answer to this one! Angelina Jolie🤢

nixnjj · 03/07/2022 00:36

Sorry I see that the above story did hit the press. As for no one gets so drunk they snog there brother has never been on a Malia booze cruise or a pub crawl. Girls got so drunk they would give a stranger a blow job for a round of shots. Strip naked and lay on the bar to be the tequlia queen, salt on lower half and lemon between breast and everyone would do a shot of her. This type of behaviour was positively encouraged. Unfortunately it was alway the British tourist the rest of europe appeared to drink normally and avoided Malia. After i left I Crete I know they tried to improve Malia by not taking the British bookings but I imagine after the last couple of years with no tourists the money is needed and anyone is welcome

Last message as this has triggered some nasty memories but one comment I remember being told by a Greek friend Being raped is a fuck you'd rather forget

lolil · 03/07/2022 00:47

Yes last week I had three babychams and fisted my granny. I just really love her and got a bit confused.

I laughed so hard I almost woke DH up!

Featuredcreature · 03/07/2022 00:51

It certainly looks like he has a hand up her skirt at one point. His hand gets snagged on the waistband and he yanks it free Envy not envy

Maybe my family are different then. I don’t see anything creepy in the video. I don’t think what happened with my brother was bizarre. I don’t think going on a drinking holiday with your dad is weird either

You snog your own brother so of course it won't seem weird to you.

Lostmybendystraw · 03/07/2022 05:46

I was once followed to a pub toilet by a male friends sister when I was out with a group that included him. She wasn't with us she just happened to be there. She warned me to stay away from her brother because she could see he was interested in me. I had zero interest in him. She then confided they had once been drinking together when he held her down and put his hands up her top and groped her and tried to kiss her. Later he told her he had been drunk she only saw him at family events now. I told my own brother this who assured said he could never get that drunk.

Charlieiscool · 03/07/2022 06:38

I spend a lot of time in Greece. Honestly if you think rape victims are badly treated in the UK you have no idea how bad it is here. I think a rape victim would be making a huge mistake to report it in Greece. One case ended not guilty in Athens a couple of days ago and all the online comments said the victim should be jailed for a false accusation and other hateful stuff assuming she’d made it all up.

YouTrip · 03/07/2022 07:18

The CCTV is truly disturbing. I really hope that she’s being supported well as it must be incredibly scary to be away from home having been a victim of rape. If it turns out that her father is guilty it’ll so unimaginable for her.

Really interesting post, thank you.
Endemic bad behaviour coupled with corrupt police and misogyny. We don’t have it bad here in fairness.

SpaghettiNotCourgetti · 03/07/2022 08:10

I agree it’s probably unusual but we grew up very close because he’s only 18 months older than me.

Thank God you're not twins!

You need therapy if you think this is ok, seriously.
