This video is a prime example of how attitudes change. It seems we go just go from stupid to stupid all the time.

digg.com/video/this-1967-british-news-report-that-interviewed-drunk-drivers-before-it-became-illegal-is-bonkers

Another example is passive smoking. Obviously stupid and horrible to think we just smoked freely inside, thinking it was fine to breathe in smoke.

Fossil fueled cars will likely be the next as will idling cars outside of schools but I wonder what else we'll be scratching our heads over in future.

Zoos.

Oh yes this is an interesting one.

I can't go to zoos at all, they make me so sad.

People plastering social media with pictures of their children. I think that generation will grow up and be horrified by it. If my parents shared so many pictures of me as a child on the internet I wouldn't be pleased. Once a picture is on the internet, even if it's on a private page, it's there for ever.

Agree with this one. Also eating meat.

LondonWolf · 29/06/2022 08:37

"Transitioning" children.

I sincerely hope it will come to be seen as unaccetable that people were kept alive for years with no quality of life and poor care, rather than allowing them an earlier, peaceful and dignified death.

Yes, and I hope it happens in my lifetime so I'll be free to legally choose when I'm done.

Nothing will be acceptable anymore. You are allowed no feelings, or it's emotional abuse or clinical depression or some other disorder. It will be a bit like in the film equilibrium. We all have to be the same and think the same, otherwise we are unacceptable to society. It will be fun !

Nothing wrong with any of that.

Nothing? You can't think of a single problem there?

"Transitioning" children.

Very soon, please God...

Cornettoninja · 29/06/2022 08:40

I think peak oil is only forty years away so pretty much everything is going to change.

DaisyWaldron · 29/06/2022 08:40

Wood/fuel burning stoves.

Ablism

Alphavilla · 29/06/2022 08:40

Euthanasia. I hope that the future allows us to die easily instead of struggle to the bitter end. It's cruel and we wouldn't let animals suffer the same way. There's got to be a future where we look back in horror at how we let the dying suffer.

Definitely alcohol. The only addictive, toxic substance people are positively encouraged to consume (except sugar - hopefully that will be next but I think alcohol will go the way of smoking first)

Allowing minors unfettered access to the internet.

God I hope so..but I sadly think not

SofiaSoFar · 29/06/2022 08:43

Enslaving animals as 'pets'.

Vaping.

Allowing men to claim they are women.

ILikeHotWaterBottles · 29/06/2022 08:44

Oh god loads of things:

Diesel or petrol cars
Sitting in your car with it idling
Using wood burners, those houses with them will drop in value
Body positivity, I hope, will be frowned upon as it's doing damage to those who are obese or larger
Abortions probably, let's face it we are little america
Eating meat
The Tory party (I hope)
Turning gardens into fake replicas of love island
Aggression towards anyone not in a car on the road
Grey homes...
Politicians being allowed to lie endlessly to us (again, I hope)

Can't think of more at the moment

CuntAmongstThePigeons · 29/06/2022 08:45

Fast fashion, having plastic bags full of clothes delivered to our doors only for most of it to end up in landfill a few weeks later

Surely it will go the other way, this will become more common. The clothes will cost virtually nothing, and be biodegradable, so it won't be a problem.

SpookyButTrue · 29/06/2022 08:48

Boxing, wrestling and probably rugby.

Hobbesmanc · 29/06/2022 08:49

Horse and dog racing
Puppy farming
Childhood circumcision without medical need
Childhood ear piercing
Factory farmed meat
Betting ads
On line gambling
Speeding. Cars will have limiters.
