I saw the Stones in concert over the weekend - amazing show - and only just realised they're on Instagram.

So I started following them and spotted this shot of Keith, aged 29 in 1972 and bloody hell! He was a bit of all right wasn't he? Who'd have guessed??

I used to see the Stones in a London club before they even cut their first record.

Mick had this mincing walk then - we all thought he was a (word that preceded the use of "gay" ).

Brian was the best looking, but very short.

Showing my age but i remember them in the 70s looking like that.

No, it was more that I couldn't believe Keith once looked like that! I could totally imagine Mick being fit as fuck in his prime. But Keith? Not in a million years!

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. You could've looked at someone like Paul Newman, even in his 80s, and seen that he'd been beautiful as a young man. But you'd never have looked at Brando in old age and thought the same.

yep....they were one of the bands I was screaming at when I was 14....and he was ok....not the best looking but ok....tough life...you should read his memoirs...

Brian truly wasnt good looking...though I guess its subjective. I met Rod Stewart who was performing at a local secondary school...he was very young...17 maybe...and was wearing mauve velvet pants and a pink feather boa....

Keith Richards was my husband's Patrol Leader in the Boy Scouts.

I don't know, there was something a bit wistful and fey about Brian, even if looks were deceiving. I only recently found out that despite dying at 27 he still managed to father 5 children

But who knows, had he lived he may have ended up looking more ravaged than Keith does!
