I have name changed for this as having massive problems with my neighbour for various reasons so could be identified. My neighbours are horrible and extremely antisocial but that’s a thread for another time. The man has just come knocking on my door ranting and raving I chose not to answer, so he came to my open kitchen window and started shouting about how we have been constantly racist towards him and his family as well as lots of other accusations and unpleasantness. The reason I think he has lost the plot is that both our families are white British, so putting the fact that nobody in my household is racist to one side for a moment how on earth does he think this is even a possibility. I knew he was crazy but this encounter has cemented it for me, I am just hoping and praying they decide to move soon.

I mean technically it’s not impossible but in this case I doubt that there’s any basis in it from anything you’ve done or that his reasoning would make any sense whatsoever if you were to ask him to explain yourself. Your original assessment (lost the plot) is probably right. Occam’s razor innit?

Think I remember one very satisfying thread where the op had nasty neighbours. They finally got somewhere by contacting their local MP I think who took it upon themselves to sneakily check the situation and coordinate with police and council.

As others have said keep recording incidents and reporting them to everyone even if you feel it doesn't help at the time. Did you report him for physically assaulting you? Did you get any video of him verbally harassing you or your kids?

You’ve got enough evidence now to report to the police. Don’t hang around just do it. I speak from bitter experience!

Did you log it with the police when he shoved you?

He sounds very unhinged and pretty scary.

I have reported to the HA before with video evidence before but nothing came of it. After the encouragement of this thread I will download it all on to a cd/memory stick and deliver it to the county and police. I did report the verbal abuse and the time he shoved me to the police previously but he was never charged as it wasn’t in the public interest. I literally have 100’s of videos of him hurdling abuse at out house so let’s see if that gets me anywhere.

Go to the local MP, Police & HA if you have that much evidence

@Fullofhotcrossbuns the sad thing is the housing association have 90% of it and just don’t give a toss, as I said before make the right noises but never actually do anything. I am motivated now to tackle this once and for all as it’s just not an acceptable way to live, let’s hope the police and council asb team can help.

That’s not racism. That’s prejudice/discrimination.

Both examples you have mentioned are white, which is a race. Being a gypsy or Irish is not a race.

gosh this sounds like my old neighbour ! don't give up hope , call the police and council and report everything , keep going, our lives were made miserable for 7 years until finally there was enough for the housing association to evict , by this point it was literally 15 neighbouring houses all reporting daily ! they finally got evicted ! don't give up it will happen x

7 more years! The thought of that just makes me want to cry.

Many people who are racist towards travellers claim they are not being racist because they are 'white' - racism is not just about skin colour.

@carefullycourageous i do not believe my neighbour is a traveler but I know he is an absolute head case that intimidates and assaulted a women with small children in her care.

Whether he goes to work or leaves the house doesn't mean he has or hasn't got schizophrenia.

Maybe he's a traveller type? They can be aggressive and "over the top". Sorry just curious about the "racist element", he's a white man with a Liverpool accent? Where is the "racial element"? Is he feeling attacked because he's from Liverpool? are people from Liverpool a different race?

I have no idea OP why your neighbour is shouting at you or whether you are racist or not. How could we? That said, obviously one white person can accurately accuse another of racism. We should do so more often, if it's true.

He sounds awful and you most likely did the right thing by reporting them to social services. Can you move?
