To wonder if no one on Mumsnet believes that trans women are women?

I’ve been lurking on the site for months, enjoying AIBU and laughing at some of the posts.

But yesterday I commented on a topic regarding the language around trans women, and the views expressed were very extreme.

Is there anyone at all on Mumsnet who, like me, did not realise how anti-trans this site is? Does anyone believe, unreservedly, that trans women are women?

YABU - trans women are not women.

Your sex is determined by your sex. Gender is a social construct that no one should be defined by.

Eg women with AIS have xy chromosomes. Classified as women.

This is why I rarely join in these threads anymore. I've been arguing about this for five years and it's always the same argument with the same stupid 'gotcha' (but not all women have uteruses??!! Oh my god really that's me convinced!) and nonsense about chromosomes. Nobody needs a chromosome test to see if you're 6 foot tall with an Adam's apple, a beard and size 11 feet you're a bloke even if you are in a dress. Can't be arsed trying to put it politely anymore, I'm not pussyfooting around trying to save the feelings of people who couldn't give a fuck about me and my daughters right to safe spaces.

No we know that because gender is a social construct, and anyone who has picked up a book about feminism will agree.

Example:

All cats are animals.
Therefore all animals are cats.

Wrong. So all A’s being B’s does not logically conclude that all B’s are A’s.

About 0.001% of people have this condition.

This does not indicate that sex is not binary.
