What would you expect to turn up in the bag from the online menu there?

Are you actually serious? You've never heard of a special offer?

It's advertised and sold as two meals. That's what's in the heading and that's what's in the photo. Blaming OP is absolutely ridiculous. This actually IS an actual deal. I could pay the same price at my local BK and pick it up. Yes, £10.49 for two meals.

It's NOT sold as 2 meals. The description for cheesy bacon double - meal is clearly for one burger, one chips and one drink.

The cheesy bacon double duo is sold as 2 meals. The description for cheesy bacon double duo is clearly for 2 burgers, 2 chips and 2 drinks.

The description tells you exactly what you are buying. Not the title. Not the picture. The description. Which was very clear.

OP didn't read the description and mixed them up. Her error.

Why are you always so aggressive ffs.

Look at the screenshot again. She paid for one meal which cost £10.49. The duo meal is more expensive - £13.99.

The description makes it clear it is one meal. Plus, if you have ever used that app you will know that you have to select your drinks. She would have only been able to selected one drink. The OP did not check what she was ordering. She got what she ordered, she just didn't order the right thing.

Getoff · 24/06/2022 09:25

I would expect two burgers, with two meat patties in each, and two drinks. If I was not paying undue attention because it's a question on a forum, I might also be expecting two servings of chips. I can see there's an argument for chips were not promised by the photo, but a burger meal usually includes chips, so I would be a bit surprised if they weren't included.

Can I ask where in the description it says that you will get two meals?

Getoff · 24/06/2022 09:34

Confusing-the description suggests one meal but the picture and fact is called a ‘bundle’ suggests two meals.

I disagree with this. I read the description as "double meal", which means you get two meals. I would expect two meals even if there photo weren't showing them. I hardly ever eat at burger chains, so the alternative interpretation of "Double meal" (note the capitalisation of Double) would not have occurred to me,. Because every word is capitalised, correctly because it's a title, it's not actually possible to rule that one interpretation or other of the text is correct.

But the description clearly says its two patties in one bun with cheese, bacon etc, served with a drink and a choice of fries or onion rings. There's nothing at all to suggest that there's two buns, two sides or two drinks. It's very clear that both the patties are in one single burger, and it comes with a single side and a single drink.

The title could possibly be confusing if you don't know that the burger is called a "cheesy bacon double", but the description makes it perfectly clear. Equally the description on the more expensive "cheesy bacon double duo" makes it plainly clear that ordering this will get you 2 x double patty burgers, 2 x sides, 2 x drinks.
To be fair, if we're just going on the title alone, it doesn't mention burger either - so you should probably just expect cheese and bacon!

Getoff · 24/06/2022 09:54

Can I ask where in the description it says that you will get two meals?

My post after yours answered this, but I'll elaborate just in case it's helpful.

The title of the item being sold is "Cheesy Bacon Double Meal". The title is meant to be descriptive, in translating it into a description (as opposed to a title) we drop the capitalisation that is only there because it is a title. The problem is, there are two ways to do this.

Cheesy bacon double meal
Cheesy bacon Double meal

The first way implies two meals, the second way implies only one.

Getoff · 24/06/2022 09:58

But the description clearly says its two patties in one bun with cheese, bacon etc, served with a drink and a choice of fries or onion rings.

The incomplete description in OP photo does not mention drinks, or fries or onion rings. I read it just as a description of the type of burger involved, with no reference at all to the number of burgers. The words are not a complete description of what you are supposed to get, under any interpretation.

Getoff · 24/06/2022 10:00

I've only just realised there are actually fries in the photo. If I'd noticed that before writing my first response, I would have written that I definitely expected two lots of fries.

TortugaRumCakeQueen · 24/06/2022 10:05

OF COURSE you would expect what is in the photo! Just complain - Burger King are really great if you complain - they will send free meals to your App, no questions asked.

KarmaStar · 24/06/2022 10:06

One burger,one drink.

It depends on the app. I can get two meals for that price at my local BK.

The description doesn't make it clear at all, and Trading Standards would agree. It's completely misleading.

Exactly! It's beyond belief what people will literally make up on here.

There's literally a picture of a meal with two sets of burgers, fries and drinks, the name of the deal has 'double meal' in it and people are arguing that OP shouldn't have expected two meals.

Living on another planet.

Carrotzen · 24/06/2022 10:15

@pixie5121 it's a cheesy bacon double. That's the burger name. It's '"cheesy bacon double" meal. As per all burger King a meal is adding chips and drink. There's nothing to indicate 2 burgers in either the name or description

It's not up to OP to figure out that it's a burger name. As another PP pointed out, this is not clear because all the words are capitalised because it's a title.

  • the meal is listed under 'bundles'
  • the meal name is 'double meal'
  • there are two sets of burgers, fries, and drink in the photo
One of these things, and I might agree that OP should have checked more carefully. ALL of them? This is a misleading description, and OP is entitled to receive the item described - two meals.
BadNomad · 24/06/2022 10:24

So the "bacon double duo" means 4 burgers does it? 🙄

I think I've found the people who order fridges then complain in the reviews about them being "larger than expected" even though the measurements were there in the description.

NannyWeatherWitch · 24/06/2022 10:26

One burger bun with two burger patties in.

lolil · 24/06/2022 10:30

I would expect 2 because I very much work on visual cues throughout the day. I'm autistic and definitely wouldn't pick out from the text in OP picture that it was for one meal only. I would t notice by price either because I rarely pay much attention to the cost. If I'm going to order a burger I just order it

Who cares what that says?! It isn't the OP's responsibility to compare and contrast all the meal names.

Some of you have some very odd ideas about the world.

pixie5121 · 24/06/2022 11:00

It's even under 'Bundle Deals', so what's the bundle, then? The 'Meals' section has meals with chips and drinks, so what makes a bundle a bundle?

The exact same item is in the Meals section. The exact same. How can the exact same thing, with exact same name, with exact same description, with exact same photo, for the exact same price, be a bundle and a meal? It is one or the other. Therefore, there must be an error. So how would you figure out which is correct? By reading the description maybe?

NippyWoowoo · 24/06/2022 11:32

I'd assume 2 meals based on the photo as well OP

NippyWoowoo · 24/06/2022 11:33

Also because of the price! I wouldn't pay that for one meal frmm BK

yourestandingonmyneck · 24/06/2022 11:51

Hope you got a refund, OP, because somebody has screwed up there.

I was inclined to think you should have got two anyway, based upon on the "bundle"
And the picture, but your subsequent screenshot which states 2 burgers, 2 fries, 2 drinks shows that somebody has definitely made a mistake.

Raise it through just eat and you'll get a refund XxX
