I'm staying in a very rural village where takeaways are limited, but it's my first night here and I thought I'd splash out. I ordered a pizza meal deal with some onion rings and mozzarella sticks... but pic of the pizza attached. I'm here alone, wtf was I thinking?!

Worse, when it arrived it didn't actually fit through the front door. I had to stand in the porch and tip it very carefully onto its side to get it in. Then as the delivery guy walked away I heard the porch door slam shut and lock behind me from a rogue gust of wind.

For a split second I contemplated whether it would be possible to just live in the porch for a week and stretch my gigantic pizza over 7 days so I wouldn't starve. Luckily then I remembered the back door was open, but rather than do the walk of shame I had to wait, hidden in the enclosed porch, with this oversized pizza, for the delivery guy to drive up the road and turn around the cul de sac and leave, then abandon my monster pizza until I legged it round the back and retrieved it.

It better be fucking good.

I know you are unlikely to have an air fryer if on holiday, but air fryer pizza the next day is very good.

There is actually an airfryer here and I have full intentions of using it for epic leftovers (if they'll fit).

Me too ! It's bleak isn't it and I'd kill for a pizza like that. Mostly for the leftovers for breakfast.

I've been defeated. I have carefully stacked the leftovers ready for the fridge, complete with the 'mouse tables' which I think I may keep as a souvenir.

DH & I went to a Chinese restaurant in Amsterdam & assumed from the prices that the portions would be the same size as at our favourite UK Chinese, where we would order a few dishes & share them between us.

Big mistake. Massive, huge. Like the dishes which turned up. Any one main dish would've fed both of us, & we'd ordered three or four. It was a cosy restaurant & all round the table next to us was a big party of impoverished students, who ordered a large bowl of soup & shared it. They noticed the stuff arriving at our table & I felt embarrassed & wondered if it would be impolite to offer them one of our main courses.

The only thing left to come out of the kitchen was special rice with pork. I was expecting a small bowl of rice & veg with a few shreds of pork, but what came was a large soup tureen full of rice, etc, with slices of luscious pork (like pork chops) all over the top of it!

The food was wonderful & cheap, but I ate (some of ) it cringing with embarrassment & wondering what the restaurant & the students thought of us.

After that recent thread of the bay shit crazy woman who only eats the contents of an organic green grocers daily, this feeds my soul!!

You can freeze pizza! I've done it with a dominoes stuffed crust. Reheats nicely!

Ha! I once had a brain wave when the kids kept losing teaspoons from their ,unch box at school. Thought I would see if you could get teaspoons on keyrings. Went online, found some. Brilliant, thought they would make a funny stocking filler. When they arrived they were teeny and I can only assume were solely for the purpose of inhaling coke. Don't tell social services.

I would have felt compelled to pretend I had a some friends round, and shouted “pizzas here guys!!!” as soon as I saw the size of the box 😂

Put the "mouse tables" between the pizza slices. Topping stays on top then. (Not that I have any experience...)
