I'm staying in a very rural village where takeaways are limited, but it's my first night here and I thought I'd splash out. I ordered a pizza meal deal with some onion rings and mozzarella sticks... but pic of the pizza attached. I'm here alone, wtf was I thinking?!

Worse, when it arrived it didn't actually fit through the front door. I had to stand in the porch and tip it very carefully onto its side to get it in. Then as the delivery guy walked away I heard the porch door slam shut and lock behind me from a rogue gust of wind.

For a split second I contemplated whether it would be possible to just live in the porch for a week and stretch my gigantic pizza over 7 days so I wouldn't starve. Luckily then I remembered the back door was open, but rather than do the walk of shame I had to wait, hidden in the enclosed porch, with this oversized pizza, for the delivery guy to drive up the road and turn around the cul de sac and leave, then abandon my monster pizza until I legged it round the back and retrieved it.

It better be fucking good.

I may have made a slight error of judgement...

How am I doing?

Also had half the onion rings and mozzarella sticks, and forgot there were 4 chicken wings too so had two of those.

@JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue it was called 'Hot Shot' and is pepperoni, onions, peppers and chillies.

I may also have opted for the hot dog stuffed crust but don't judge me, I'm clearly not of sane mind today.

The base is actually super super thin, so although I agree I'm being a greedy fat fuck, it's also dangerously easy to eat as the proportion of dough to toppings is different.

You have done really well.
I'm so thrilled that a place does massive pizzas. I miss the USA for its gigantic pizza pies and surf and turf and huge tubs of spaghetti and macaroni on the flip side, dont you have the minutest hands I've ever seen.

Hellocatshome · 22/06/2022 18:34

You know its a big pizza when they have to use more than one of those little plastic things to stop the box sticking to the pizza! I feel I need to know how much this massive pizza was so I can be properly jealous.

KatherineJaneway · 22/06/2022 18:37

Cold pizza is great, especially with salad cream

RagzRebooted · 22/06/2022 18:40

I could definitely eat the whole thing, it's nice and thin. Maybe not with the sides though! I love leftover takeaway curry or Chinese, but not pizza as its never tastes the same the next day.

How much was it?!

CaptSkippy · 22/06/2022 18:40

Hey! Hey! You can't leave us hanging. Was it actually good?

RagzRebooted · 22/06/2022 18:43

How many inches was it sold as?

I am North East and that sounds like a good deal even for up here. I'm so hungry can you post some?

WorriedMillie · 22/06/2022 18:50

I remember when I was a kid, my cousin a d I ordered a pizza between us in the US, we both had pathetic appetites at the time, so it seemed a good idea
The pizza would have easily fed us for a week, it needed its own table 🤣🤣🤣🤣

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 22/06/2022 18:51

And lo...the legend that became The Mumsnet Pizza was born.

BriceNobeslovesMurielHeslop · 22/06/2022 18:52

There used to be a place in Cricklewood that did 16’’ for a fiver!! I have fond memories of sitting in my little rented bedroom, watching movies illegally while eating Garlic Chicken Tikka with jalapeños (just like Nonna used to make)

IcakethereforeIam · 22/06/2022 18:53

Did you accidentally order a piazza? Set some tables and chairs on it, see how it looks.

Sidge · 22/06/2022 18:53

You know that radio advert where he mishears “two hungry people” as two hundred people?

That’s you that is.

I dread to think how long this would last the MNers who make the Mumsnet Chicken stretch to 273 meals!

😂😂😂

That would be my kids dream, a pizza that can’t get through the door 😂😂😂

worraliberty · 22/06/2022 19:03

I can't stop laughing at the mental image of the OP, struggling through the door with the pizza box tipped sideways! 😂😂😂

Moodycow78 · 22/06/2022 19:03

Now I really want pizza thanks!

That is known as a mouse-table. Probably.

It's the heat, none of us are quite ourselves. I'm currently cooking despite having a cold fan blowing on me and thinking of going and having a cold shower but not sure if the shock might kill me.

Enjoy your pizza.

Size does matter then.

OMG, £23 inc delivery?! That’s amazing. I too am rural and I dream - dream - of food being delivered, especially a pizza too big to fit in the door 😩. There’s a lot of nice stuff about being in the countryside, but the one thing I miss about living in town is knowing that when you can’t be arsed to cook you can literally pick up the phone and someone else will sort it for you. As opposed to here, where it’s basically cook or fucking die.

I moved from a farm in Cornwall to a big city and put on 2 stone when I discovered Deliveroo 🤣

Rabidturnip · 22/06/2022 19:16
