Naked neighbours

Sunshine10012 · 22/06/2022 16:32

The fence that belongs to our neighbour is only a low wire for half the garden and then one panel that rotting and falling down and large gap that we have to cover with a huge plant plot to keep their dog out of our garden.
our neighbours have just had renovations done to their home, a new extension, new patio etc.
but they haven’t replaced the fence.
they sit out all day long in their underwear sunbathing.
my children can’t use the paddling pool, I can’t even garden because it feels too awkward.
for 7 years I’ve felt like I’ve shared a garden.
we can’t afford to replace the fence ourselves.
is it unreasonable to ask that they replace their broken fence seeing as they insist on sunbathing half naked everyday? what Would you do?

Ah, Helena....You've clearly never experienced the joy of a soggy Bikini bottom

Basilbrushgotfat · 22/06/2022 17:06

Sorry:

!!!!!!!!!

Lou98 · 22/06/2022 17:07

Struggling to understand why your kids can't use the paddling pool because your neighbours are out in their underwear.

If they swapped the bra/pants and boxers for a bikini and trunks would that suddenly be better? Do you never take your kids swimming or to the beach?

If you don't like being able to see in their garden when they're doing nothing wrong, you'll need to pay for and put up your own fence

stuntbubbles · 22/06/2022 17:07

This is making me think fondly of my mum, who gardens exclusively in her saggy underwear and a giant floppy sunhat from March to October, both sides of the garden edged in trellis to maximise light and airiness and expose her to the neighbours. None of whom give a hoot because the garden is ::chef’s kiss::

Dear 'Helena',

  1. Learn to use the @ facility
  2. Lose the multiple exclamation marks. According to the late great Terry Pratchett:

'Multiple exclamation marks,' he went on, shaking his head, 'are a sure sign of a diseased mind.' -- in Eric
Five exclamation marks, the sure sign of an insane mind. -- in Reaper Man
'And all those exclamation marks, you notice? Five? A sure sign of someone who wears his underpants on his head.' -- in Maskerade
CITY'S BIGGEST CAKE MIX-UP!! [...] 'Lose the second exclamation mark,' he said. 'Otherwise I think it's perfect.' -- William de Worde in The Truth
It goes 'baa!' It is a sheep! [...] That! Is!! Not!!! My!!!! COW!!!!! -- in Thud!

Good luck on Mumsnet, you're going to need it.

JinglingHellsBells · 22/06/2022 17:10

Your neighbours have gone from NAKED in your clickbait title, to half-naked by the end of your post.

maybe they saw you writing it!

Is this a wind up?

How can you possibly complain about adults sitting in (I assume) a pair of boxers, or bras and pants (unless the latter are peephole and crotchless.)

stuntbubbles · 22/06/2022 17:11

I want to know how someone can afford an extension in this economy when they’ve been sitting outside in their underwear for seven years, because I’m clearly in the wrong job.

Really disappointed. Thought this thread was going to be about nude gardening.

They are wearing underwear, why’s it any different to wearing a bikini? Have your children never seen people in underwear?

Mostess · 22/06/2022 17:13

For seven years? you could have grown a hedge in that time.

Bickles · 22/06/2022 17:13

They aren’t naked. I am currently wearing a bikini in my back garden. It’s sunny and I have the day off. Why not?

Chaoslatte · 22/06/2022 17:13

BouncyBalls · 22/06/2022 16:42

Omg 😳 in a thong on their front garden 😂

Back garden, but lying on her front, so I could see her full bum cheeks. Presumably she wants an even tan more than she cares about people seeing her essentially naked as our gardens are very overlooked!

SpookyButTrue · 22/06/2022 17:13

PAFMO · 22/06/2022 16:58

You could stop looking into other people's gardens?

This. I used to have neighbours that were a pair of full on naturists. I just stopped looking. They were really likable and amazing at growing vegetables.

HaudYerWheeshtYaWeeBellend · 22/06/2022 17:13

so your children by your description are naked in their gardens if using there paddling pool…. Pot, kettle black isn’t it 🤔

JinglingHellsBells · 22/06/2022 17:14

@pointythings what on earth are you on about?

Bollindger · 22/06/2022 17:14

Go buy a green tarp, under £20, fix a washing line along the fence, drap the tarp over it, at 6 foot, they won't be able to see you, and you won't be able to see them.
If they comment, just say your child were shy and you want them to be able to use the garden.

Jesus H Christ, if people can't see that 'Helena' is a parody account, we really are in trouble. Good grief.

Musti · 22/06/2022 17:15

You’ve not been able to sort this in7 years? How is underwear offensive? Just don’t look - simple

PaddingtonBearStareAgain · 22/06/2022 17:16

Theblacksheepandme · 22/06/2022 16:54

Chaoslatte
Could you put up that bamboo roll stuff or any plants to block it a bit? I’ve just looked out of the window and accidentally seen my NDN sunbathing on her front in a thong so I do sympathise but I suspect they won’t get a fence because they don’t care that you can see them.

The cheek of her.

🤣

OP they aren't naked though are they.

I hope you don't go to the beach or a swimming pool, you'd implode.
