I'll go first....

If you are feeling low, do something for someone else. Not because you have too, but because you can. I promise you will walk away feeling more inspired than you did before! Just be kind in life, it's so rewarding.

Never envy anyone.

Not their fancy house, big car, high flying career, perfect marriage, gorgeous kids. None of it.

I've learnt over the years that that perfect existence is frequently a charade. The mortgage is huge, the jobs that're paying for it are demanding and draining, the couple hate each other and the kids are either in therapy or in need of therapy.

It's good to aspire to better yourself but do it for yourself, not to keep up with anyone else. Contentment is rare but so life-enhancing if you achieve it.

This is a great one. I’m happy. I’ve always been happy even though I don’t have everything. I’ve noticed that the people close to me who aren’t compare themselves to others rather than focusing on themselves and their own lives and being grateful for what they do have.

Benjispruce4 · 27/06/2022 07:31

Compare and despair! @detectora
I deleted Facebook Year’s ago partly for that reason and I don’t have Instagram.

For book people or those with kids.get borrowing app or one similar.
It means you can get books to the app from your local library. It's an amazing tool.they don't have all the books so still worth going to library or going online to check the ACTUAL book catalogue.but it's brill.

Don't ' hide away stuff in your attic ' because you might need it one day , or because it tidied up your home . Odds on you it will never see the light of day again . Get rid.
Only Christmas decs or luggage storage count as ok .

Trust your gut, it never lets you down.

If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Remember that children have bad days too. They are people and are allowed to be grumpy, tired and answer back, just like the rest of us. Don't hold them to exacting standards every single day.

You only regret the things you didn't do.

Get outside in nature - it feeds the soul.

Get lost in a book or movie when you feel sad or anxious. Distraction helps the mind.

It is impossible to think of two things at the same time. Your feelings follow closely from your thoughts. Don't follow your thoughts down a dark path, think of something else or imagine a huge stop sign going up in your head to stop bad thoughts.

It is your body. If you want to pierce it, tattoo it, fake tan it, sunbed it, smoke, drink, have a mad hairstyle then go for it. But just remember that there can be consequences of doing these things and you must accept them. Your life, your body, your rules, your choices - no-one else's business.

Remember to breathe. Funny how much you hold your breath without realising it when you are in the heat of something.

Dance. Even if you think you look stupid. Music is the food of your soul. Sometimes getting lost in music is all you need to feel alive again.

When you have more than you need, build a bigger table instead of a higher wall.

Hmm 🧐 looks like this is now a WhatsApp Forward @LesGiselle

Use toilet roll to clean your toilet then throw away the dirty paper. Voila, no manky cloth ever again.

I can't believe people use a cloth?! 🤢

secludedgarden · 16/07/2022 00:37

If you think you need to wash you hair, you do.

Lunarpsychobitch · 16/07/2022 04:37

Never eat yellow snow!

Turnthatoff · 16/07/2022 04:41

Stay as healthy as you can and as strong as you can for as long as you can.

store all your bedding inside the matching pillowcase.

Ddot · 16/07/2022 05:49

Eat more veg, you will never regret it the next day. Your body will thankyou and once your health is gone its damn hard to get it back.

Ddot · 16/07/2022 05:50

Look after your teath and your feet, that's off my mam

Ddot · 16/07/2022 05:52

Put a layer of frozen peas over the fish/mince whatever, before putting the mash on for cottage pie etc. Stops the mash sinking in and tastes lovely!

Don't leave school with a goal of getting a minimum wage job in a caring profession.

PathOfLeastResitance · 23/07/2022 21:49

You can’t change the behaviour of someone else but you can change your reaction to it.

Don’t start something new on a Monday.

KangarooKenny · 21/06/2022 07:03

If in doubt, do nowt.
This works for me and has been right so many times.

Yes!

stillherenow · 23/07/2022 22:19

You'll always feel lonelier in a bad relationship than you will ever feel on your own

Dalaidramailama · 23/07/2022 22:24

Go into mens professions. They’re easier and they pay more.

Spent many years fannying around in stereotypical female helping careers. Never did me any favours emotionally or financially.

Life is better now!

Mimilamore · 23/07/2022 23:14

Everybody is blagging it but some people are better at doing it...
