A bird, not a neighbour for the last part.

AIBU here? My neighbour constantly throws food out to the birds, anything goes. I’m fed up with it,

And their cat shits on my freshly laid faux grass. It’s a nightmare. I really don’t want to have to move because of this.

Great, well done cat, fake grass is revolting.

As for your neighbour putting food out for the birds, it's her garden and she can do as she pleases. Birds shit whether she puts food out or not.

You are definitely very unreasonable because of your plastic grass. Just why????

I don't often feel sorry for cats, but this breaks my heart.

Just wait until your baby learns to undo their nappy and covers their surroundings in their own poo..

Some of the replies on this post are grim. Yes neighbours are ok to feed the birds and it’s a good thing to do. However, it’s a pain if it’s attracting flocks of seagulls because they do make big mess and we’re in Avian Flu times…

Full marks for drip feeding op 😁

I am glad your neighbour is looking after the wildlife at least. We need less bird hating, plastic garden people in the world and more plants and animals.

Perhaps the solution is not to leave the baby outside unattended? The foxes might get him/her/them.

Drip feed alert.

As pps have said, birds do shit, and they FLY too, so even if your neighbour wasn't feeding them, they'd still fly over your garden and potentially 'shit on your baby' Hmm

Also, cats wander around and shit in various places. I am sure the neighbour hasn't trained her cat to do it you know!

@AndStand I think you need to get out more, and get a grip.

🎵All we need is less...

Less plastic in our gardens,
Less bird shit in the sky,
Less cat poop in plastic litter box,
Less wildlife hating cries

There are usually lots of birds around even if there's no feeding frenzy going on.

It's actually quite unlucky to be hit by falling bird poo, so the chances of it happening again are very, very slim OP. It's only ever happened to me once, walking across a park.

I like to feed the birds but seagulls are a different kettle of fish (excuse the pun). I have been shat on by herring gulls more times than I can remember because they circle round looking for food to snatch.

It is also very annoying not being able to relax when eating outdoors because a neighbour feeds them. We can't leave anything unattended and have to guard everything on our plates from an audience of gulls sitting on the roof watching and waiting for us to slip up.

I actually really like seagulls. Just not so keen on their stinky fishy shits.

Well said...

If I was a cat I'd shit on "faux grass" too 🤣🤣

The issue would be a lesser one with the cat poo (it would be dug in to the soil/grass) if you didn't have a plastic lawn.

You sound as if you want to live in a totally sanitised (and very artificial), risk averse world, OP.

Are you okay?

No one who has 'faux grass' deserves any sympathy. The birds were probably expressing their disgust.

herring gulls (aka ‘seagulls’) are endangered and are protected. Wildlife is desperately dwindling and needs more support. It’s good that your neighbour is supporting nature.

Tell her she's given you a rat problem. That'll stop her.
