To offer the workmen a calippo?

They’ve been digging up the road out the front for 2 days. Every time someone moves the dogs bark. I’m trying to work. (dogs barking through Teams meetings). DD is working nights so can’t sleep (Digging and barking).
but it’s hot and I’m eating one so feel a bit guilty. Would it be weird to offer them one?

One of the school mums gave our school crossing chap an ice lolly earlier, poor bloke was melting in the heat and he was very grateful.

A few years ago some workmen were digging up our road to fix an urgent gas issue just before Christmas, working all hours to try to get it done. I took out a tub of mini flapjacks and made them some hot drinks and a couple of days later when they were checking all the houses to make sure there were no more leaks they noticed an unrelated issue with the installation in my house and fixed it all for me.

I'm sure they'd appreciate the gesture and you'd get 5 minutes peace while they ate them.

Get them Jubblies and there's at least 30 minutes' peace and quiet...

Niceness breeds niceness, I never understand why there's so many posters on mn that begrudge giving any type of worker even a glass of tap water.

I would do it I bet they’d love it .

Our builders just asked if tomorrow they could bring some ice pops and put them in the freezer. I told them we have loads and to go help themselves! They were well chuffed!

You're obviously new here otherwise you would have started a thread about your CF workmen wanting to use your freezer.

There also would be questions about whether to ask them to take their boots off at the door and put on artesanal slippers or not, and what to do if they needed the loo....

But clearly on the basis of this thread alone Sanch1 needs to have the ice pop packaging translated into every known language and have epipens available for potential anaphylaxis of they prove allergic.

I am extremely late to this party.
But calipos aside, have I just read correctly that Sarah Steadman gave a builder doing work on her neighbour's house a cold can of coke, one thing led to another, they had a quick shag and 9 months later she had a baby but has not seen said builder since and presumably he knows nothing about the baby at all.

This is by far the most interesting aspect of this thread to my mind.

<OP, I hope the builder came back and you offered a calipo on Friday.>
