Some adverts are so bad you’ll never purchase the product?

That bloody Abel and Cole as has just been on whilst I was happily listening to LBC radio. It’s so crap, especially compounded by the fact that the young lad can’t sing (I’m sure he’s lovely but he’s time deaf).

I’d never purchase from them as the advert winds me up so much; what adverts put you off the company to this extent?

I also hate any cereal adverts, the Ariel ones and ones where women are doing every shitty domestic crap for the men and children.

I'm a sucker for most adverts with cute dogs in though!

I refuse to watch adverts. I always record what I want to watch so I can fast forward through them! Can't remember the last advert I watched 🤔

The tampax ad that goes something like 'get it up there girls' gives me the rage!

That ad was banned here in Ireland 😂

SausagePourHomme · 12/06/2022 18:23

Agree with LV, lifebouy, perf with serf

Mine is starbucks for bandwagon jumping and monetising the gender craze

Wren kitchens and that stupid dancing couple.
Actually most dancing adverts which have no relevance to the product.

I like the dancing....

agree with the money supermarket ad
Judy dench has sunk so low

I can't believe she needed the money!

SunshineAndFizz · 12/06/2022 18:24

ABC mouse. Urgh.

CandyLeBonBon · 12/06/2022 18:25

And the John Lewis insurance ad that was out at Christmas with the pouty lad trashing his house and ruining his sister's artwork - I would absolutely refuse to consider their insurance on the strength of that appalling advert!!

WibblyWobblyLane · 12/06/2022 18:25

I can't stand the go compare opera singer. I won't use their website because it just gives me the ick.

Hohofortherobbers · 12/06/2022 18:27

The LBC ad for easyjet Holidays, it sounds like the woman is getting off! Looking for a holiday? ummm, in the the Spanish sun, getting warm, 5 star resort, getting warmer, with great food, getting hot.....with a view of the beach, oooh YES YES found it

The Omaze house raffle adverts!
No-one talks like that🙄

DH and I always parrot 'O-maze!' in a sing-song voice to each other when that ad is on. So annoying!

flashpaper · 12/06/2022 18:36

All of the John Lewis adverts made me never want to shop there. They just feel so manipulative.

AclowncalledAlice · 12/06/2022 18:38

The one with the "it's the most wonderful time of the year" song, but about holidays. All I know is if the family shown is the type of family the ad is aimed at, then I've no intention of sharing a plane or hotel with that obnoxious bunch of entitled twats.

HereIGoAgainAndAgainAndAgain · 12/06/2022 18:39

We buy any car dot com (is that the Philip Schofield one), Kazoo and any other car ones. Postcode lottery and Tui

Yorkie bars - they used to be my favorite chocolate but I haven't eaten them since they introduced the 'not for girls ' slogan in 2002.

This. And McCoy’s crisps for the same reason.

PaddleBoardingMomma · 12/06/2022 18:45

Yopi, they refuse to refer to women as shock women, instead calling us bleeders. And Benefit cosmetics for their stupid af campaign on Instagram "it's a fact that not just women have periods" 🙄 firstly what has a make up company got to do with menstruation and secondly, yeah, it is only women that have periods.

I’ll bet you didn’t object to the hunky truck driver in he eighties though!

Any baby formula advert that insinuates that formula fed babies do better in life than breast fed babies, or that formula is virtually the same as breast milk or that stopping breast feeding is "moving on" .

Ah, the Breastapo have arrived 👍🏻

TheQueensMarmaladeSandwich · 12/06/2022 18:55

That super noodle advert with the long oooooooo in it. Makes me want to smash the telly screen

melissasummerfield · 12/06/2022 18:56

The fitbit advert thats full of ‘unique’ individuals pole dancing and surfing.

snag tights whose products I used to buy all the time now only advertising with hairy arse blokes in tights or obese women with everything hanging out. I am fat by the way, still don't want to see it while I'm scrolling instagram.

Rockschooldropout · 12/06/2022 18:59

The Virgin airways ad , I can’t bare it
Omaze with that patronising women
Any ad for stairlifts /walk in showers showing a spritely forty something using them

JustKeepLookingWithYourEyes · 12/06/2022 19:01

Another vote for nationwide. Also “I didn’t even know Oral B made a toothpaste!”

we went to the US a couple of years ago and were really surprised to hear a webuyanycar advert and they still use that awful awful song! It was like being transported back to 2015 hell! Hopefully it’s changed since then, those poor Americans.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 12/06/2022 19:03

One for NE mumsnetters. “I LOVE CARPETS ME,” especially since they started advertising plastic grass.
The Virgin one. Not for being woker than an insomniac on double espressos, but for when the young woman pulls an aggressive face at a kid. Rude.

TeenPlusCat · 12/06/2022 19:06

The Bloom&Wild(?) flowers advert where they say the thought lives longer than the flowers and shows flowers wilting away!

I'd rather buy from somewhere where the flowers last.

Crikeyalmighty · 12/06/2022 19:06

Perfect with surf, Dominoes pizza with the yodellers, and the current haribo one gives me the creeps
