Apparently the joke is that the women are so attractive where he's going so can he have a "free pass"

Well you can see the way his mind is working. Perhaps respond "Sure, I'm already lining them up for my free pass when you're away". Or perhaps "Yes, you've got a free pass" and dump him. I wouldn't be impressed with his "joke".

There are two couples that I know of off the top of my head who are happily married with actually three children each, none of whom would’ve been born if I’d opened my mouth and told the girls involved what their partners dead on lads holidays.
I honestly do not know why anybody thinks they’re ok/ a good idea, they all cheat on them all of them.

He’s definitely testing the water. Where is he going? A lads trip to Spain to watch some football and get drunk could be okay but if it’s Thailand I’d be pretty suspicious.
