Booing Boris. AIBU to say he deserved it?

I'm not a boo-er, it doesn't come naturally to me. Yet thinking of the photo of the queen, alone, at her husband's funeral contrasted with his snivelling 'apology' for tolerating depraved behaviour in his workplace together with his other contemptuous behaviour over the course of parliament, I'd have found it hard to resist. His presence just seems like adding more insult to injury.

The steps of the Cathedral before a service is absolutely appropriate and in line with biblical teachings. Jesus was partial to displays of righteous anger towards those who exploit the law for their own gain, and wasn't afraid of disrupting places of worship to do so.

GoodJanetBadJanet · 03/06/2022 19:02

as i pointed out ip thread, there is basically no other time that the public gets any access to Johnson
Exactly, was perfect as that's when you get the chance, to get public mood across.

Most of the country are sick to the back teeth of party gate , it would be a very strange boss who didn't attend a leaving do at work .

Even old Keir was doing the same .

Very childish to boo and today wasn't the right occasion or place .

Yes , except he had just made attending a leaving do illegal and appeared on TV to tell us. Then lied by claiming he never attended any gatherings

Florenz · 03/06/2022 19:05

Boris will be gone by Christmas.

jenny91x · 03/06/2022 19:07

Those who hate him, really really hate him because he has such a big support and yes, brexit did happen, and your remain vote plus 2+ years of remoaning didn't pay off..but okay we'll just forever bang on about parties, despite the fact that 90% of those people moaning about it also had their own gatherings at home.. any excuse, honestly..

LeeHarper5 · 03/06/2022 19:08

Volterra and itsgettingweird Thank you for your kind words.

itsgettingweird I’m so very sorry for your loss 💐

My husband spent weeks at a time in hospital (cancer) with no visitors at all. When he moved to the hospice only myself and my 5 yr old could visit and only for 2 hours a day wearing PPE.

I will never forget what Boris and the others did, nor the contempt they’ve shown to us all. It is unforgivable as far as I’m concerned.

If you were in the crowd today and you booed him, I thank you.

StoneofDestiny · 03/06/2022 19:08

If he is being booed by the sort of weirdos who dress up in union jacks and go to London to wave flags at the royals then he is in really big trouble

😂😂100%.

isadoradancing123 · 03/06/2022 19:09

most people are sick to death of partygate, get over it

  1. Nope, didn't break the rules once. Not once.
  2. Boris wrote the fucking rules in the first place and his excuse has been "I didn't realise I was breaking the rules.

Which either makes him thick as shit or lying out his arse. Or both.

Either way, not a man any sensible person wants as PM.

User1535 you are not seriously suggesting that because 'London is a Labour city' the Union flag waving, monarchy-loving jubilee enthusiasts outside St Paul's are representatives of the International Workers Party or similar are you? I think that's extremely unlikely.

As I said London voted him in as mayor twice and his constituency is in London, so it's not that simple.

Do you have a source for the 90% statistic you quote…..?

Exactly the point sections of the right-wing press are making. That should worry the Tories as much as the boos themselves. www.thetimes.co.uk/article/boris-johnson-cant-ignore-the-booing-they-should-be-his-crowd-mq80k08m8

He passed laws which meant people died alone whilst he was getting pissed up at private parties. Honestly, apologists like you make my skin crawl.

I know, just look at those arch-remoaners Steve "hard man of Brexit" Baker and David "former Brexit secretary" Davies, publically calling for him to resign in parliament of all places!

MigsandTiggs · 03/06/2022 19:15

Was it appropriate to even have leaving do's at that time tho? Boris could have sent a handwritten note, a voice note or had a 1to1 meeting with the staff member who was leaving. He's an untrustworthy man, lacking in morals. I'm certainly not fedup of partygate. A dear friend died during lockdown and I had to watch his funeral on Zoom while only his wife and nephew attended in person. One rule for some...

FatherBuzzCagney · 03/06/2022 19:16

I wouldn't let it bother you @SkirridHill, it's probably just a No.10 press minion three hours in to Wine Time Friday. 🍷🍷🍷

limitedperiodonly · 03/06/2022 19:16

I was very relieved to see Carrie by his side. It's been months. People were getting so worried about her.#WheresCarrie was trending recently.

It really is. You’re clutching at straws. That crowd will have come from all over the country - and beyond.

Very good point.

Let's hope Jesus was proud Grin
