Booing Boris. AIBU to say he deserved it?

I'm not a boo-er, it doesn't come naturally to me. Yet thinking of the photo of the queen, alone, at her husband's funeral contrasted with his snivelling 'apology' for tolerating depraved behaviour in his workplace together with his other contemptuous behaviour over the course of parliament, I'd have found it hard to resist. His presence just seems like adding more insult to injury.

90% of those people moaning about it also had their own gatherings at home

An utterly repugnant thing to say.
No idea what world you live in, but not the same one as the rest of us.

toconclude · 03/06/2022 21:14

Yep. Nice to see some bite back.

CapYourDoff · 03/06/2022 21:15

I am baffled at the fact that few saw through him before Brexit and the election, and his time as LM of London.

He was and always has been as shallow as a puddle, with little to show for his la -de-da private education either. He emanates buffoonery but there is steel and abhorrence of most of us including the Queen behind his "for the cameras" public persona.

But of course the Tory Party is complicit. Either they are afraid of him because he knows where the bodies are buried, or they are just stupid sycophants. Probably both.

They deserve each other and are well-matched pair. May their union be long and lasting.

Better get used to the sound of booing Boris & Carrie

I'm almost glad he's still in office as everyday he has to go through another self-inflicted awkward/squirming moment. He thrived on being popular, that's why he keeps trying to 'buy' the public with crowd-pleaser slogans / policies.

Death of a thousand paper cuts PM.

I've hated him since I first saw him on Question Time. He was arrogant and rude, talked over everyone else, it became Boris Time and I spent the hour telling him to stfu and let someone else speak. Horrible man.

MrsMAgain · 03/06/2022 21:22

I know it is Friday but it was a little early in the day for Friday Boos, even for Boris.

*Booze

MrsMAgain · 03/06/2022 20:51

YANBU.

Never mind the boos though, I expected a thunder bolt to come down from on high and strike him during his reading from the New Testament!

Who chose that, I wonder?!

I commented on another thread at the time that I wondered how he read it with a straight face!

Torturous viewing for sure. I'm afraid I always just turned QT off if he was on the panel.

Someone somewhere surely has something on him? Or maybe he has more on them?

Anyone with a shred of intelligence can see he is transparently foolish and dishonest to his core. What is it about some people who vote for and admire this type of man. As I said in pp I am truly baffled!

Vikki69 · 03/06/2022 21:31

Disgraceful behaviour.

Crikeyalmighty · 03/06/2022 21:32

I'm fascinated at the Tory PR trolls (and I'm convinced some Johnson apologists on here are, as I only ever see them on MN posts criticising Johnson or the Tories' . Where do you get the sides that 90% of us were all at it having gatherings?? I know all kinds of people across all ages and classes and I only know 1 person whose behaviour wasn't to the letter and that includes a bunch of early 20 somethings -- where are you getting this 90% from?? I think it's wishful thinking because most people haven't moved on

I remember the pictures of the Queen looking very old and lost, sitting on her own at her husbands funeral... and she obviously wasn’t the only one. I’m so sorry for anyone who was prevented from being with their loved ones at that time.

Hes a disgrace. The least he should be getting is boo’s. He should be booed out of Parliament.

Spot on.
My family were kept from my dying father.
I was allowed in at the very end. Just me. On my own. With no one to share the sorrow. No one to share the heartbreak. I kept the family informed via a group message. No one to hug me while my heart was breaking.
Every time I see that arrogant man on the TV and he's still in office I hate him some more.
How embarrassing for the country that we're booing our own prime minister on an historic occasion.
The man doesn't have a shred of decency!

They’re just liars lacking in any sense of decency.

It comes from the top.

Most of the country are sick to the back teeth of party gate , it would be a very strange boss who didn't attend a leaving do at work .

Even old Keir was doing the same .

Very childish to boo and today wasn't the right occasion or place .

What exactly is your evidence for "most of the country is sick to the back teeth ..."? Have you noticed what the opinion polls are doing?

No, it would not be a strange boss who didn't attend a leaving do. All over the country - my workplace included - leaving dos simply weren't happening because it was so obviously against the rules.

What leaving do do you contend Keir Starmer attended?

YANBU, it was very funny and it seems Carrie also thinks so

Yes, Carrie and Zac are probably still laughing about it.

And at least it took some of the unwanted pressure and attention off the Yorks and the Sussexes:

Booing Boris. AIBU to say he deserved it?

It's hard to say what the demographic is of the people booing. London is by and large a Labour city, and also a Remain city, and while Boris was voted in as mayor, he's widely hated by Remainers anyway due to Brexit.

If he's booed by Brexit voting Tories in the Home Counties then he's in more trouble.

A hell of a lot of people have made a special journey to London for the Jubilee. Taking refuge in "lefty Londoners" just isn't going to work.

If they did I didn’t hear them.

There were very audible boos when they walked in.
