Clotted cream

No clotted cream in our local M&S left today 🙈 my scones will have to have butter on them tomorrow. Think M&S should have foreseen mad rush for clotted cream and stocked up. Devastated. AIBU? The only other local shop I have is Aldi so will walk with baby and try them later.

BlueBloodedBlue

use a Sherry glass to make smaller scones

inky use finger tips for rubbing in and handle mixture as little as possible

i don’t roll out - jyst pat lightly into shape and then use glass to cut out scones

Do you have any small local shops near you? They quite often have stock of things others have sold out of

Not much use for anyone this weekend but clotted cream freezes perfectly. So always handy to keep a pot in the freezer, can be rather too tempting tho!

DH got the very last 2 tubs in Tesco (the man had to go out back for them).

We only needed one tub but when DH found out they were the last, he got both 🙄

Your DH is clearly a selfish loser then.

It won't actually have been the very last two if they had to get them from the warehouse (they be in cases) but seriously it's people like your DH that just make my blood boil.

Selfish, selfish, selfish.

I froze a tub a month ago, had a cream tea for my Mum's Birthday and had it left over. Felt quite smug defrosting it yesterday! Had my doubts but it was fine!

M&S came up trumps yesterday. The jubilee was saved.
