Anyone here over 55 with both parents alive? Or know anyone who is?

Just out of interest

I was 55 in 2012 and had both parents still alive at that time. My dad is still with us.

I can only think of one person I know who's over 55 and still has both parents. She's 56, I think both parents are in their 80s.

I'm 55 and both parents are still alive. DM is 85 and has Parkinsons but DF has just turned 89 and still swims a mile every Friday morning.

Nearly 40 and still have my grandparents they are early 80’s

I'm 54.
Both parents still alive well and active.
They are 80.

dh is 52, dad still alive and well (dh's mum and FIL's second wife both dead)

One set of grandparents died quite late, my Mum was 52 when her dad died (aged 92) and then 62 when her mum died.

My mother was 75 when her parents died - they died within a fortnight of each other. Her mother died at 93, father at 97.

I'm 65 and my mother is alive (if you can call it living, she has very severe dementia. She's 87). No idea if my father is dead or alive.

My siblings are over 55 and both our parents are still alive. My husband is 55 now and both parents alive but sadly one is on end of life care.

Not any more, but both my mum and dad were over 55 before either lost a parent. My grandparents were all parents at a relatively young age (early to mid 20s). I don't see that pattern repeating as my parents were in their mid thirties when they had me, and I was in my mid thirties when I had my daughter.

I was in my early, not mid thirties. Not that it really matters.

I'm nearly 55 and both sets (mine & DH) alive and well. Infact my mum at 75 is travelling more this year than me .....she has just come back from Dubai after taking all her grandchildren there for her birthday. She's amazing

My dad is 63 and both his parents are alive.

My mother in law is 59 and her grandma is still alive meaning my children have a great great grandma!

I'm 53 and have both still alive in their 70s.

I have several friends in their 60s with both parents still alive and a mid 40s friend with a very independent granny.
I lost one parent in my 30s and the other diagnosed with dementia soon after so I'm slightly envious.

Yes, my parents are over 60 and both have both parents still alive - in their 90s. I’m in my 40s with all grandparents still alive, which I think is rare.

My dad died at 65, he was outlived by his mum and stepmum. My mum lost her dad at 63 and her mum at 66.

On the other hand if I live until my daughter is mid 60s I'll be 100+ 😂

Nope. I'm 42 and both parents have died :(

My MIL is 63 and both her parents are still alive and doing quite well for being in their 90’s.

Yes my mum is 60 and has both parents alive. My nan is in her 70s and has her dad alive. Her mum only died 5 years ago.

Interesting to read how many people well into adulthood have grandparents still alive. Obviously a lot depends on the age people have children.

All my GPS died by the time I was 3, (2 before I was born) so I have no memories of any of them. I had DC in my 20s/early 30s but by the time they were 11 and 14 they only had 1 GP left.

My paternal grandparents are both still alive, and my dad is 63.

I am 63, still have both parents. Both now in their mid 80's

Dp has his mother still, my parents friend is 72 and has her mother alive
