Anyone here over 55 with both parents alive? Or know anyone who is?

I'm 56 and have both parents and a grandad

My mum was 57 when her dad died.

My neighbour is 48 and has 3/4 grandparents still alive. His parent who has both parents alive is 71 and the grandparents are 97 and 95.

My dad died when I was youngish, 30. But he'd been close to 40 when he had me, whereas my mum was 22. She is still alive and is now 74. But I'm not 55 yet.

Her parents died when she was around 55, at 85 & 86. I had my DC young so I would hope to still be around when they hit 55, although I really don't want to go past 80 myself. But because I had my DC so young, they did get to at least meet their great grandparents, which meant a lot to me as I was very close to them.

Yes, both OH and I are hovering around 30 have all 4 grandparents still alive (so ofc it's our parents who are over 55). All 8 grandparents are now late 80s, some in good health still and some who are declining. Yes, we realise how incredibly lucky we are and cherish the time we have with them.

I'm 60 and both my parents are still alive, both in their early 80s.

I am 57 years old and both parents alive at 84 and 87 .My mum is as fit as a 60 year old ,.Dad not so but still doing well all things considered .My PIL's are both alive also at 86 and 75 .My two brothers aged 57 and 58 also have both PIL in their 80's alive so in short all grandparents in the family are alive .

My mum is 70 and her mum is still alive.

Surely plenty of people at 55 have at least one? I'm 54, mum is 82. She was 27 when she had me and that was really quite old in the 1960s. Most of my friends my age still have their mum. Some of them havr their Dads too.

I a good few years older than 55 & mine are both still alive

I’m 55 in 2 weeks and both my parents are alive (79 and 84)

Both my great grandparents on my mums side were alive until she was 65.

i’m 50 and both parents still alive, people on both sides tend to live into their 90’s so I fully expect to still have both parents alive at 55.

My DH is mid 50’s and both parents are dead.

Surely there are lots of people in their 50s with their parents alive. My parents are both mid 50s, their parents are mid 70s, early 80s. Up until 5 years ago one of my parents still had two grandparents alive.

I'm nearly 62 & both parents are alive, 86 & 88.
They're both fairly healthy & live in their own homes.

My mum was 57 when her dad died and 60 when her mum died.

And my grandad is 103 and lives on his own

Yes. DH and 1 are 55. All 4 are still alive. And all their siblings as well.

Based on our experience.
I dont want to live past 80. The is when the quality of living seems to drop off to just survival.

Im 68 and still have my mum aged 93,dad passed away 9 years ago aged 83

Do you mean parents?

Not many (if any) 75 year olds have there grandparents alive.

My DM is 64 and both of hers are alive. My DF was 65 when his DF died - his DM is still alive and kicking.

Both PIL alive in their 90's my parents both died before I was 40 and neither was elderly.

Just shows what a difference to me families it makes having children older or younger... I am 39 and if my grandad was still alive he would be 112! My parents lost their parents long ago.

All of my grandparents are alive. My dad is late 50s. My mum died a couple of years ago, before either of her parents, but would also be late 50s.

I have both parents, I’m later 50s. I had my grandparents (grandmothers) for a long while too. First one passed when I was mid 30s, second when I was late 40s. My grandparents were early 40s when I was born. Same with my parents when my first D.C. was born.

Yes me , 56 and parents late 70's, both healthy aswell
