My mum used to say - I love to walk, but oh my feet!

I've tried for 30 years not to bend the front of my foot. I just learned to walk with a limp which got worse and affected my back - all because of a toe joint.

It's been hard to learn to walk without a limp - but it's speeded me up. At my age! It's made such a difference!

Thanks for the recommendation - H is planning lots of hill walking for our little getaway holiday home.

your sleep-walking dramas had me laughing out loud, while alone, like a lunatic, which is v therapeutic.

@Lougle

My youngest daughter has ivabradine for POTS.

My older daughter has to eat smaller meals more often as a 'normal' meal makes her faint. It's apparently blood diverted to the stomach during digestion (taking blood away from other areas) which makes her heartbeat double, crushing chest pains and it ends in passing out. Some type of autonomic dysfunction.

They've been told it's connected with EDS. My older daughter is also autistic, which can also be common with Ehlers Danlos.

I often wonder if I'm autistic.

That's really interesting. 2 of my 3 DDs have ASD dx and the last on the waiting list. I am pretty certain I'd meet the criteria.

Lots resonates here, I'd suggest you look into a private prescription for LDN from a chemist in Scotland, been life changing for me.

Eds, frozen shoulder, menopause and long Covid.

peridito · 21/06/2023 20:55

What is LDN ?

CherryogDog · 23/06/2023 08:51

@peridito low dose naltrexone. I asked my GP for it because studies show it's effective for fibromyalgia but he said he's only heard of it for treating alcoholism.
@stayathomegardener did you need a doctor's consultation first? I've just been referred to pain management and I'm going to ask them about it.

stayathomegardener · 23/06/2023 20:29

Hi Cherry, no I have little confidence in GP's.

I went straight to the Scottish Chemist and they assessed me as suitable over the phone, I did use my cfs diagnosis.

Shows how little your GP knows in that Naltrexone is for treatment of alcoholism yes but Low Dose Naltrexone is very different.

There's lots of research online easily available.

I'm still having great results on it.

Darn it, I live in Skechers!
